I am wondering if a infant flys as a lapchild on southwest, are you recieve any luggage allowance? I know we can gate-check our stroller, but can I bring an extra carry-on for the baby? Thanks!

I may be wrong, but I believe that the baby would not be considered a ticketed passenger and would therefore not be allotted a carry-on.

No. You get the same carry on requirements as the rest of the ticketed passengers.

The baby isn't a ticketed passenger, so no extra luggage allowance.

But SWA allows two checked bags (maximum 50 lbs. each--check website for dimensions) per ticketed passenger--FREE! As well as a carry-on (check website for dimensions and be sure you can lift it into the overhead compartment) and a personal item.

Hope this helps. :)

In order to get any baggage perks (either checked or carryon) you must be a passenger with a paid for seat. Lap babies haven't been paid for, so they don't get any baggage allowences.
