SouthWest is offering 50K points Credit Card again

Woohoo! Hit 110k for companion pass today!!!!

Congrats! We should hit ours when the next statement closes. Do you know how long it takes to actually be able to use the pass? We have flights booked early June and I would like to use the pass for DHs and get the points back. We should have the points by May 12 so I would think that is enough time?

you should be able to use it ASAP. I designated my husband as my companion the day the points were in my acct.

Yeah!!!!! Just got our business card. Now I need to make $2000 in purchases and get my 50000 pts to book my flights. :)

Do you know if Chase awards the business card based on your credit-worthiness or the business's? Also, is this billed to your home address or to the business? My DH is a 1/3 owner of a small LLC, but we usually end up with a business loss on our taxes. However, he has business expenses that it'd be nice to have a specific card for, and with a couple of big purchases coming up, the extra miles wouldn't hurt, either, if they were in his name!

Do you know if you can get the 500000 bonus if you have the premier card and then you get the plus card?

There are 4 cards total. Business and personal plus and business and personal premier. You should be able to get the sign up bonus on all of them. Just keep in mind there is a $99 or $69 annual fee for each one and there is only one card right now offering 50k. I think the others are all 25k. I have read the 50k offer comes and goes. There is also the Chase Ink card that offers 50k points.

I'm not sure.....we area a small business as well, only 1 employee he's a truck driver. I have it sent to our address but in our business's name. Hope that helps.

I have MORE questions about how the rewards points post.

We met our $2000 to earn the 50,000 points, but it looks like we met it after our first statement closed. Will we see the RRpoints before the next statement closes or not until then?

We did RRdining for a bonus of 300 addtional points (eat and review within so many days of signing up) but I am only seeing the credit for the price of the meal - will the bonus show up later or did they miss something and I should call to get it credited?

RRShopping seems to get credited pretty quickly so that's nice. Especially for last minute if you are short on points.

Thanks thanks thanks for all your expertise and help!!!::yes::

You will not get the points until after your next statement closes...usually about 3 days later. As far as the bonuses, they do sometimes take a while to show up.

What is RRdining?

What is RRdining?

Rapid Rewards Dining. You link a credit card (any card, we used our Southwest card) to the rapid rewards dining website. When you eat out at certain restaurants you can earn 3pts per dollar. My neighborhood doesn't have very many participating restaurants but a couple and with the extra 300pts for using within a certain amount of time it was worth it even if we only use it a couple of times.

Can you double/triple dip?

I currently belong to iDine (which I believe is the same as RRdining). They have my CC # and I get cash back (10%) for dining at restaurants on their list.

Can I belong to RRdining and cash in there as well?

United also has a dining program... can I cash in on all three dining programs with one restaurant visit?

Thanks...

If you use partner company reward points (ie Marriot/Best Western) and "purchase" SW points with them, do those points count toward the 110,000 pts needed for the Companion Pass? Best Western offers 1,200 SW pts for 5,000 BW pts, and Marriot has a whole list (2,000 SW for 10,000 Marriot).

Thanks for any info :thumbsup2

I currently have a RR account with @7000 miles on it. If I apply for the credit card, will they give me a new RR account # or will I be able to link it to the account I already have. Years ago, when I first received the card, I sorta remember being assigned a RR #. Thanks in advance!

When you apply for the card, you enter your RR#.

Alright! So cool to find this out! Working toward my Companion Pass also. Just wish I could put EVERYTHING on this card!

I have to offer a big thank you to this thread. I normally would'nt apply for a credit card that has a yearly fee, but we did with this and were able to pay off some of our recent medical bills due to our newest daughter from November. Due to that, we reached the $2000 goal within about three weeks of getting the card and the 50K points posted very quickly and are there for us to use!
