Southwest flight change for one person on reservation?

I've done a search on the DIS, SW, and google but can't find my answer. Also called SW, but it is a 20 minute wait with no option for a call back. So, I thought I'd check with the Transportation Board.

Right now I have a reservation for me and my husband for a GRR to MCO trip in March. Now, DH doesn't want to go, but DD does want to go. So, I need to cancel DH's flights and change my flights to have a longer trip. Since changes affect all passengers on a reservation, do I have to cancel both DH's and my flights and then rebook myself? Where do the credits appear so I can apply the cost of my old flights to my new flights? (I've flown SW a few times, but have never cancelled or changed flights.)

I was hoping that I could just cancel DH's flights and change mine, but that doesn't seem possible.

Any help and/or guidance is appreciated.

Thanks!

Yes. That is why I always book my SW travel one leg at a time and individually. That way I can change each piece as needed.

The credit will be based on the flight reservation number and the name of the original traveler. That's the info you enter to use the credit.

Incorrect. You don't need to cancel the whole reservation. Call Southwest and ask them to split the PNR. This will give you two separate reservations. Then cancel your husband's reservation (do this yourself online), change your now separate reservation and make a reservation for your son.

Ditto to the last post, I have done it, you just have to call.

With SW, you can't do absolutely everything online, sometimes a call is necessary. (like to extend expired credits).

Thanks. I'll call Southwest when I have some time and ask for help in splitting the reservation. I appreciate your help.
