If you are flying SW soon, you may want to check your fares...
Mine just dropped... :cool1:
I also got on the flight I really wanted and got a small credit! :thumbsup2
And I got a small credit for my return flight. Money towards my flights for my June trip if I don't end up going back sooner than that!! :rotfl:
Just thought I'd share so maybe someone else could save too!

When was your flight? We've got tickets for June and ours have been going way up. Been keeping an eye on it daily. Also have a standard award I was hoping to use, but it hasn't been available for our departure day. :P

I'm flying mid March on a Sunday (which I normally don't do). My sister is flying THIS fri and hers went down!!! Crazy!

THANKS! I just saved another 1000 points per person for the flight down!

Now we are flying all five of us round trip Chicago to Orlando for under 66,000 points! YAY!

Hmmm,
I see that they have Airtran flights on the Southwest listings now. "Operated by Airtran " is their quote.
I am fine with that, but just wondering if there is any bag fee if booked through soutwest ? Anyone know ?
Rates are attractive if there are no bag fees. I Have gone all the way through the booking process, and it still says first 2 bags fly free, 0.00 bag charge .

Wonder how check in is........Southwest or Airtran ???

Just two weeks ago I went online before going to bed to check my flight status and noticed my fares had dropped. So it pays to check your fares often.

This just started today and if you book through SWA site there is no baggage fee for the Airtran flight. But if you book on the Airtran site there is a baggage fee.

AND if you have SWA travel funds and book through SWA an airtran flight, you can use your SWA travel funds. Basically I was told whatever site you book through those are the rules that apply.

It is nice being able to use Southwest Rapid Rewards, but be careful. There is no way to reserve seats on the AirTran flight the same way passengers can who book through the AirTran site. That means it is possible for a family to not sit together when booking through Southwest because the AirTran passengers already picked theirs. You would think all passengers could have the same chance to pick their seats instead of AirTran passengers picking seats and Southwest passengers getting the leftovers.

Just go to the SWA website and put your route in, when you get to the point of actually selecting your flight you should see some that say AirTran under them.

thank you, I guess we can't buy seats after we book even if we call. right?;)

Wow that's a bummer. I was just getting excited because the addition of the AirTran flights opened up some flight times that I prefer over the previously offered Southwest flight times. I was considering booking them but was looking for more info first. Whether or not checked bags are still free was what I was concerned with, but I never even considered the seating. We've been flying Southwest for so long I totally forgot about assigned seats. :crazy2:

Wait--- we can "price adjust" once we've purchased from SW? We're flying from Chicago on points, too... Off to check our fares!
