If anyone is trying to book through Southwest, you might want to check the fares. I just checked and the flight that was $160 (one way) this morning, is currently $107.:yay:

Congrats on the fare :thumbsup2. I was able to get $99/pp going down for our trip in December, but the return is still up at $166/pp :faint:. I keep checking every day for the return to come down, but no such luck as of yet :(.

Thank you!!!!!!:goodvibes:cool1:

I had checked a few times today but didn't see any drops. I saw your post just as I was about to turn the light out and saw a way to make all my plans work. It was a ridiculously long process though! I had flights booked for first thing on a Saturday morning. I changed those to Friday night, person by person because I had already changed them before and all four of us were on different reservation numbers. Then I was able to combine the credit I had from before, the one I just got and change our return flight.
Our return date was very high so I had booked the cheapest flight that had us changing planes which I really didn't want to do. I then changed that flight to the first non-stop of the day one person at a time, and was able to use the 2 credits and pay the $6 difference for the non-stop by credit card.:)
So I got non stops for $1350 for the four of us going December 13th and coming back the 23rd.
Long process but bottom line is I got what I wanted. Thanks again!!

ETA) and $337 pp is way more than I've paid before but considering Dec. 23rd is one of the busiest travel days of the year I feel like we did pretty good. It was going to be $460 a person before all these drops.

The fares for my December trip have never been as cheap as I booked in May. I keep checking, as they were much more expensive then our August trip last year, but with the price of gas, and the holidays, I am happy enough with what I paid. I still am hoping for even a little reduction, even though I think it's already full flights.

Glad to hear some of you got great fares.

Pigletto: I feel your pain. I originally booked during the sale in June, but also didn't get the dates I wanted. I was able to get the dates I wanted on this sale and it only added about $25 total. My changes were not as difficult, but definitely worth it!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!:worship::worship:

I have been stalking SWA for months trying to get our flights to a reasonable cost. I bought our flights home about a month ago. $103 OW out of MCO. I kept waiting to buy our flights down because I just didn't want to pay $173 or $203 OW. Check MCO and TPA and both have been $$$. Checked this morning and MCO was down to $149 but TPA was down to $107!!!! YAY!!

Now have 4 tickets booked both ways!
SDF-TPA NS $107 each
MCO-SDF NS $103 each

Thanks, OP. Unfortunately, still skyhigh in Oklahoma. :scared1: But, I did get in on the Seaworld Celebration sale, so I have no complaints.

I was lucky enough to get my return trip for the 107 price. I am still stalking out my going flight, hoping to get something comparable.

Just checked again for the heck of it. The flight home dropped from 230 to 175. Just got a credit for $220!

That will come in handy for the next trip. I don't know when that will be.. but there is always a next trip::yes::

I went online and checked at midnight Thursday and flight was 12,000+ points... checked gain at 4am and it was only 8,040 points per person... For a family of five, I was ecstatic to sve 20,000 points on our return flight!

Just booked return flight to Austin for day after Thanksgiving. Cheapest flight for return had been $259, but I booked our return flight for $179 Each. I'm so glad that I checked the Southwest site this morning.

SW seems like a good option. I may just start buying online through their rewards link to get points. So you can sometimes get round trips for 12,000 points?
