Southwest experts?

Does anyone have any experience with Southwest flights out of Chicago? I'm thinking of flying in May, and right now there is a one way flight to Orlando for $104. Coming back on a Sunday the flight is min $144. Would you book now if you were me or would you wait? I've been trying to research it, but thought I would see if anyone has any insights for me. Thanks!

I fly out of Providence, and would book those prices in a heartbeat. I hope some experienced midwest flyers chime in for you soon.

I am flying SW out of Midway, and have been stalking the fares. I jumped on the $104 this am!!

A tip I got was to book the flights as separate one-ways, not a round trip. That way, if the prices go down, you will get a credit.

Thanks for the replies guys. I also looked at the Airtran flights and currently the same $104 from Southwest is $100 (with baggage fees extra) from Airtran. If that were to stay the same, I would book with Southwest, but I've been backtracking the same days of the weeks I'm flying and in earlier weeks the $100 from Airtran is $79. Did that make sense?? So, it's possible if I wait I could get the one flight for $79 (we plan on checking one bag--maybe two at the most so still a savings--but it is worth it to take the chance??)

This is so stressful!!!!!!!!!!! Are any of the rest of you this crazy??

I fly SW out of Midway and check fares often. I haven't seen any great prices lately, in fact I am surprised by the lack of deals. The only way I have gotten cheap airfare the past couple years is to book the same day fares are released or get lucky and have a Ding come up (although I haven't seen a Ding for Orlando in quite some time). Last September I booked same day fares were released and was thrilled to get $79 each way but fares increased quickly. We are going to Disney in September and will be happy if we can pay around $200 per ticket.

I always book at a price I am comfortable with and if I get a credit later that is a bonus. Definately book one way tickets so you can take advantage if the price is reduced. Maybe you can use SW one way and Airtran the other??

We travel on Southwest a few times per year and often have a credit to use from when fares have gone down.

I hesitantly booked our Palm Sunday flight, even though it was high. It has never came down, it is still high.
