PS HAVE FUN IN DISNEY:cool1:

Bump!

I'd love to know what boarding numbers everyone's getting to/from MCO for the holidays with or without EBCI!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Not for an MCO flight, but I checked in for 2 separate flights from Houston to Austin...flights were this evening (Thanksgiving Eve).

NO EBCI (and not A list or Business select).
Flight one: Checked in about a couple of minutes after T-24 and got A 60. Ended up in the window seat of the exit row. :goodvibes

Flight two (my backup flight, since I didn't know when I was getting out of work today): Checked in about 10 minutes after T-24 and got B 8.

So...still not too bad, considering busy travel day and no EBCI.

We used EBCI on way down from ISP A17-20. Flight was about 3/4 full. Price of flight was over $200 early. We don't have it for flight back so I guess we will see. Happy Thanksgiving all!:goodvibes

Flight Tomorrow morning - not full, we did not do EBCI - PVD ->MCO

A 34,35,40,42,44,45,46

a non ebci stat...checked my son in on tuesday for his wednesday flight from ft myers....1 stop in orlando and on to long island..right at t24..no ebci and he was A37....

Oh, thank you that does make me a feel a bit better... but I guess I don't understand what they (SW) can do about it if it is really up to the people who board before you do? :confused3

Technically, they really cant do anything about it. It's open boarding. But, even though we hear about people refusing to move etc etc, and there is no doubt they would say that, I find it VERY hard to believe that in a full plane, there wouldnt be ANYONE that wouldnt move so you could sit with a child. Now, I'm not saying people are going to move so a whole group with high boarding passes can sit together, but for one person to move so at least one parent could sit with a child, I'm sure someone would move. I havent given up totally on the flying public.

And those that have stated 'no way I'm moving after I paid for that BP', while I see your point, EBCI is supposed to be just so you dont have to worry about it, one of the perks is that you will get a better boarding pass, but the 'spirit of the EBCI' is supposed to be for convenience.

Just checked in for tomorrow morning from Bflo to MCO......with EBCI we got: A21-25.........

Just checked in for flight from MCI to MCO for tomorrow right at 24 hour point without EBCI and got A41.

Just back today, MKE/MCO/MKE. Did not use EBCI. Did check in within a few minutes of the 24 hr. mark both ways and got A29-33 and A30-34. Still ended up in row 4 for both!!!

fly in tomorrow PIT to MCO bought eb A17 thru 21!!!!!!!! Let the vacation begin!!!!!:goodvibes

Just checked in at 24 hours before our 7:50 DAL-MSY-MCO flight w/o EBCI. DAL to MSY we got A44-46. I was pleasantly surprised since DAL serves many business travelers and is a stop on many flights. For MSY-MCO, we got A31-33.

Just checked DH in for his 4:05 flight HOU-MCO tomorrow. Right at 24 hours he got A51 w/o EBCI.

Tomorrow, CMH to RDU via BNA. No EBCI A30-31-32 for 1st leg, from BNA to RDU got a27-28-29 for 2nd leg..

I don't know if I'm going to use this... we've always used my DFIL or DSis to check us in if we couldn't do it (for our return flight home). $20 seems like an awful lot (for the both of us)...

I LUV SOUTHWEST!!

Just so the person you're responding to feels better, I wouldn't pay for the EBCI. I have in the past given up my coveted aisle seat for a middle so that a parent can sit with their child. I've also done it so a husband could sit with his nervous wife...went up to the bulk head on that one...and I hate the bulk head (having to put my purse where I can't see it...ugh, don't know who thought of that idea!) I've done it on all airlines, not just Southwest. It's a seat on a plane, we'll all get there eventually! And besides my ear problems, I don't have issues flying. And if I weren't flying solo (i.e. with my boyfriend) I'd persuade him to give our 2 seats together and split up. I'd much rather us be apart for 2 hours than a mother/father and child. So yep, we're still out there! :flower3:

...Oh, and I flew AirTran one time where they moved me from my aisle seat to Business Class so a parent could sit with their child. I figure it's karma  So if you're not flying SW, you can always talk to the person at the gate before hand!

Oh, so I guess I was also wondering... what happens if we ARE split up and one of my children is upset during the flight? Will everyone on the flight totally hate me? :confused3

I'm pretty sure the fine print in the CoC instructs us to obey the FA. I suspect that includes making us change seats.

Checking in at T-24 should give you a high enough sequence number so at least one parent can sit with your 5 year old. Your older children should be able to function without sitting next to you.

Sometimes an incoming flight is late. Connecting passengers get to the gate after the flight has boarded. Passengers who paid for a BS fare, EBCI, A-Listers, people who checked in at T-24 or even passengers who would otherwise be eligible for family mid-boarding are out of luck. The plane is ready to push back. The FA isn't going to have time to move very many passengers. Enough time to get a volunteer for a very young child but that's about it.

I checked in at exactly the 24 hour mark for a morning flight tomorrow from Chicago to MCO. We did not use EBCI and got A52&A53.
I was surprised to not get better boarding sequence. We did get EBCI for our return flight.
