Southwest Early Bird Checkin

I just checked in online (from home). We are on a flight tomorrow that originates in Denver and then stops in KC , where we will get on, and then on to Orlando.
I chose not to do EBCI for the flight down and got A 34 & A 35.
However, I did sign up for EBCI for the flight home and I did this for the CONVENIENCE only.It is worth it to me not to have to go to Guest Services in the middle of my last park day to check in. No other reason!
I'll post back in 9 days and we'll see how I did.

Flew back from MCO yesterday afternoon.
A 16,17,18 were A Listers who checked in online NO EBCI.
A19,20 spots were empty.
WE GOT A 21,22 WITH EBCI.
A 23, 24 were empty spaces.
The woman in A 25 told me she checked in online from home. No EBCI.
So it seems we were the only ones to do EBCI for this flight but that's OK. It was so worth it to me not to have to go somewhere at 4:35pm to check in.

On a side note-on our flight out ALOT of seats were being saved
and this flight was sold out. Our flight coming home had quite a few empty seats.

Don't know if it is known that you can do the following so I thought I would share!

We just changed from a morning flight to an afternoon flight on the same day, with flight prices that were almost the same and did NOT have to pay again for Early Bird Checkin. She told my DH that as long as it is the same confirmation number on the same day (even if it is a different flight) then the $20 we had already paid would transfer to the new flight.

Hope that helps someone someday!

good to know, thanx for posting:thumbsup2

We paid for it for our Dec trip- I hope it woks out for us as well- althought I usually got A passes at 24 Hr- it will be nice not to have to worry about checking in at the 24 hr mark when we are in a park, and since it is Dec I wasn't sure how busy the flights might be- oh well at least it will be 1 thing checked off my list!

I have read that some people are doing it just for the way home. How do you do that? Do you still have to check in at the 24 h mark or just wait till you get to the airport?
tia

Just did my 24 hour check-in ... BNA to MCO

at exactly 24 hours out, we got A36, 38, 39, 43 (I had 3 separate reservations)
:)

That's exactly how we're doing it for our December trip. You do it by only checking the return flight on the screen where you select the flights you want to buy EBCI.

Paid the $40 for four of us to fly down with EBCI..

Why??

I have absolutely no idea..maybe its because I have nothing else to obsess over...

Sad..oh so sad

here is my question, sorry if I missed the post on it already. We paid for EBCI tonight is the 36 hour mark when can we print boarding passes? Do I need to wait till morning at the 24 hour mark.

The EBCI system checks you in at 36 hours, but you need to wait until the 24-hour mark to actually see your boarding numbers and print out your boarding passes.

Just returned last night. Did not get EB for the flight to MCO. Ended up with A27 and A28. Used EB for the return flight and got A19 and A20.
It was really nice not to have to think about checking in at the 24 hour mark on our last full day.

We're flying from Tampa the Saturday after Thanksgiving. At first I could not get enough seats for our group of 5. Last night when I was able to get the seats, I chose EBCI because I want us to hopefully be able to sit together.

Ok so we are flying out the beginning of November..I did not pay for EBCI for the five of us..but am considering it on the way back...I am a tad confused though...Because I am flying southwest..the resorts won't check in for me ? Do you guys just pay for internet and check in yourselves? My phone has internet..but I am not sure how good it is..Do you just pay the EBCI and then you don't have to even worry about it? You don't have to check in at all?

I think you do the EBC for your return flight before you leave for your trip.?..?:confused3 I think we just won't know what boarding # we got until we get to the airport and print out our boarding passes. Is this correct?? I am wondering this too as this is what I was thinking of doing. We also are leaving the beginning of Nov.:dance3:

If SW does not have the RAC in at all of the resorts by the time you trip is here, you can still have the resort concierge desk or any of the guest service locations at the parks do the online check in for you. You just would not be able to check your luggage at the RAC counter.

Using EBCI for the trip home seems to be popular because people are out in the parks, enjoying their vacation, etc and don't want to be bothered with having to find somewhere to check in. Yes, they'll do it for you at the resort concierge or at guest services in the parks, but you still have to take the time to go ask them to do it and wait while it's done. With EBCI it happens automatically and you don't have to do anything but show up at the airport and print your boarding pass at the kiosk.

I used the Early Bird check in for my flight tomororw out of Albany, NY. I ended up with A19.

So just to double check here (I take some time catching on!!) Using EBCI I DON'T have to check myself in at the 36 mark, it is done automatically for me? Can people check themselves in at the 36 mark?

Checked in this morning for our flights to MCO from SDF and the flight is sold out. Did not pay for EBCI and got A43, A44 on first leg and A30, A31 on conecting flight out of ST. Louis. I am happy esp. since this was a sold out flight. Now, lets see what we get coming home:thumbsup2
