We booked our air in April, and the rates have wildly fluctuated since then! I have $120 in credits with Southwest ($30 each), and $180 in credits at JetBlue. JetBlue allowed us to pool them, and they can be transferred. Southwest is telling me each credit can only be used per person. My DD4 and DD6 are not likely to fly much in the next year. DH and I were thinking we could do a getaway for us. :cool1:

Does anyone know of a way to get Southwest to let us (two of the original travelling party) use our kids' credits? I think in the case of kids, and when their tix were purchased on MY credit card, I should be able to commandeer those credits!

SW changed their rules earlier this year. Each credit can only be used by the original person. Most airlines follow this rule.

I wanted to add that I understand SW not wanting us to sell/transfer them to someone on craigslist, but I don't see why they aren't more flexible with parents/kids or a travelling party.

Most airlines charge a fee to get a credit (which is usually higher than the credit) and outside of Jet Blue and maybe one or two other airlines, none allow for transfer of credits to others.

I guess, to say it bluntly, don't look a gift horse in it's mouth. SW has a generous policy, be happy for what it is.
