Southwest CC question

I received the Southwest CC last week. I have since charged just over $2000, which I plan to pay off immediately. The problem is all of the charges, except the automatic $99 cc fee is listed under "temporary authorizations". This means that my available credit is less the $2000 I charged, but the charges have not been processed. This makes my current active balance only $99 dollars. FWIW, I charged some household bills and bought some items from big name merchants (Amazon.com). I originally charged everything a few days ago and am surprised they aren't posted yet. Has this happened to anyone else? How long do you think it will take to see these charges active on my account? I have already tried to overpay, but the system won't allow me.

I really want to pay off this account to speed up getting the 50,000 RR points into my account. It's crazy how much I want to pay off this bill, lol.

If you know how much is on the card, pay it. I do it all the time - just did it this month with paying for airfare/hotel/tickets for my November trip. I had it all paid before the charges actually hit my account.

The points won't post until a couple days after the billing cycle closes anyway. It's not a matter of how fast you pay it. Do you know when the billing cycle ends?

I am on my phone, so I can't quote....but in reply to the second post, I tried to overpay, but it would only allow me to pay $108. I can't believe they wouldn't take my money. Not sure what the reasoning is.

In reply to the third post, I have read a few time on the Dis that as soon as you pay off the $2000 your points should show up shortly after, no matter when the closing date occurs. My current closing date is Nov 11. I am hoping to get my points in my account before SW opens their next flight schedule.

Pretty sure your statement has to close before the points move over to your RT account.

You can call to request a different (earlier) closing date for one of our SW visa cards. We did that to receive our rewards faster. From my experience, the points did not appear until the statement closed but they were there immediately when it closed.

Not sure why they haven't gone through yet. I do have certain ones that take quite a bit longer to post to my statement but it's usually just that- "certain" things, not all of them together. (this is the same way with all of my Chase cards- we have about 4 of them)

I hit my $2000 in my first billing cycle and my points posted with my 2nd billing cycle end. (FWIW, we pay off our balance 1-3 times during each cycle...rarely ever have a balance left to pay once it ends, and never carry one over, so I'm not sure why they didn't post with the first one even though we'd already met the requirement)

I, too, have many more pending charges than usual with my chase accounts. I even have one or two things shown as pending, though I've received emails that the purchases have shipped.

I wonder if it could have something to do with the government? (For me, nothing has cleared since the 1st, though I also didn't buy anything for the few days before that).
