Ok, I signed up for the Southwest CC to get the two free tix. 
(I don't normally do that - I'm a one CC type of gal.)
I'm also planning a trip in March, and would like to get my flights booked soon - I don't like waiting until last minute, and with SW not having change fees, I feel comfortable booking now.
However, I'd love to use the points I'll get once I get my CC, however from what I've gathered it's 2 weeks to get the CC, then I have to buy something, then pay the CC, THEN I'll get the free points. So - it could be around Christmas before I can use those points!
Do you know if it's possible to purchase tickets (the regular way), then when the points become available, swap them out for tickets using the points? Or should I just use the points for a future trip? (We are planning to go to CA sometime this year.)
