Southwest CC offer for 2 roundtrip flights

Spent some time looking at flights to/from various airports on both ends.

If I fly from Charlotte to Phoenix off season I can get it as low as 12,00 round trip.

That can pay for 4 of our 5 flights out there.

I have applied.

Dawn

Make sure you make the $2000 in charges :cheer2: good luck

We signed up for the card and charged the $2000. The account just billed for the first time and I paid it right away. Does anyone know how fast the points appear on your frequent flyer account? We want to book flights in just about a week or two from now. Am I just dreaming that we'll be able to use the points for this!?

It took 2 days from billing and payment. Login your chase account and check it out.

Dminnie, do you think southwest is posting new flight dates next week? Like for after valentines day?

I was looking into this card too, but don't you have to spend $2000 to get the 2 free flights?

Yes, that is correct. If needed, apply around the time you are expecting to make some good sized purchases. We have football season tickets and just charged them. Got the points a few days after the charge went through. Now to decide where to fly!

OP, I would apply anyway. There are so many posts I have seen where they have given the points to old customers no questions asked.

Up to the $2,000 on the card I received in the mail last week. We spent it on a new TV and extras to replace the 11 yr old projection one that died.

I had DH try for the Business account today but he was denied since he just opened a personal account last week. I am hoping they keep the 50K points going and that DH can get approved for the business card in a few months. These points will be saved for next years vacation and hopefully we will fly to florida for the very first time.

From Pittsburgh to MCO it is about 17,520 per round trip ticket FYI

Just a suggestion, but I read articles that stated chase will allow you to have multiple cards with them but only as long as you don't go over a certain amount of overall credit - so you might call them & ask them to lower the credit on the 1st card so that he can get the business card. Example: chase may cap your overall credit at 5k. If they approved you for 5k on the 1st card, they're going to deny any app after that, but if you call & ask them to split the credit up as 2k on personal, 3k on business, they might do it. Google "chase reconsideration line" and see what comes up, I think that'll get you close to the articles I found.

I think I read somewhere that they'll release the late February flights next week. In not sure though.

OP here, just wanted to post an update. After reading that others had received the bonus points even though they were previous card holders, I went ahead and applied. I was approved instantly and received my cc yesterday. There was nothing mentioned in the info that came with the cc about the 50,000 bonus points so I called and they confirmed that I would receive the bonus points after spending $2000 within 3 months. I have some med bills to pay so will be putting $2000 on the card this week. I had them move up my closing date to the 1st of Aug. to expedite receiving the points. They did say to allow 6 to 8 weeks for the points to be deposited into my account, I am hoping it doesn't take that long. Right not I can get 2 round trip tickets from ONT to MCO for my Nov. trip for about 30,000 points, so I will have some left to save for our next trip. If it takes 6 to 8 weeks I will most likely have to use the whole 50,000.

I applied but did not get an instant approval. I was told I would get a letter within 30 days. :scratchin

Hi dawnm. The only time I've heard of waiting for a letter was to offer you a diff type card which may not be with the 50 k points...if you don't typically charge on other cards or have many outstanding cards either with or even without debt that may also cause them to do further research on you.
If you have great credit and have cards you used recently you ll prob be fine. If they offer you the lesser card you can always decline it.
Best of luck !!!

Both DW and I signed up for the "Plus" version of this card last summer when they were doing the 50k point promotion. I am planning to cancel soon since we are getting close to owing the $69 annual fee... but then I read about the 50k point offer being back again, and saw that they have a "Premier" version of the card.

So, after talking with them, we both just applied for the "Premier" version of the card, and got it. We are eligible for the 50k points on this card too since it is technically a different card. ($99 annual fee, but anniversary points, which basically cancels that out)

In total we will have earned 200k bonus points between the two of us... which will get us to Orlando many times.

For anyone waiting on doing this until they have a big purchase ... be aware that normally they do 25k points, so eventually this promotion will end.

Also, be aware that you have to earn points every 24 months to keep your account active. If you don't, you will lose all of your points. As long as you earn something (even 1 point) all 50k of your points will remain active another 24 months from that date. If you search for it, there are a few easy ways to earn points through their Partners, or even as easy as buying 1 song on iTunes through their site.

how soon did you receive your cards after being approved? Man, we have a wicked huge car repair that will cover the $2000 in one shot, but it is being repaired this week! I doubt there is a way to get approved and have the actual card to pay with that quickly :sad2:

Both times I had the cards expedited and had them within three days. If you call the customer service number you can have the cards expedited. They will most likely tell you that you can't do it but I have done it twice.

Mine took about a week, maybe a bit less.
