Well we had quit the experience at the Orlando Airport on our return home!
For our departure out of Flint, MI, I printed our boarding passes from home. No problem our first and last names were on them
We checked out of POR and checked in for our flight there, and got our SW boarding passes. I never really looked at them.
Got into security line at MCO (HUGE line) and once we got to the front they said our boarding passes were no good because it didn't show our first names (we have a really long last name 19 characters) They wouldn't allow us further. We had to go back to SW ticketing - Line was HUGE! Thankfully there was a wonderful SW customer service agent directing people and he helped us. Told us he would go with us the TSA because the boarding passes were good.
Went back to the Employee TSA line (where they told us to return with new boarding passes) and SW agent and TSA agent "discussed" the situation. SW agent then had to go back to the ticketing center and print out new boarding passes that included each of our first names.
Both TSA and the SW agent were really nice and accommodating. It was stressful, but it could have been worse if either of them would have been less than sympathetic.
Once we were issued the new boarding passes, TSA sent us through the employee line and we were through security in less than 5 minutes, in plenty of time for our flight.
Soooo the lesson is - from now on make sure our boarding passes include our first name!!
