Well we had quit the experience at the Orlando Airport on our return home!

For our departure out of Flint, MI, I printed our boarding passes from home. No problem our first and last names were on them

We checked out of POR and checked in for our flight there, and got our SW boarding passes. I never really looked at them.

Got into security line at MCO (HUGE line) and once we got to the front they said our boarding passes were no good because it didn't show our first names (we have a really long last name 19 characters) They wouldn't allow us further. We had to go back to SW ticketing - Line was HUGE! Thankfully there was a wonderful SW customer service agent directing people and he helped us. Told us he would go with us the TSA because the boarding passes were good.

Went back to the Employee TSA line (where they told us to return with new boarding passes) and SW agent and TSA agent "discussed" the situation. SW agent then had to go back to the ticketing center and print out new boarding passes that included each of our first names.

Both TSA and the SW agent were really nice and accommodating. It was stressful, but it could have been worse if either of them would have been less than sympathetic.

Once we were issued the new boarding passes, TSA sent us through the employee line and we were through security in less than 5 minutes, in plenty of time for our flight.

Soooo the lesson is - from now on make sure our boarding passes include our first name!!

Hope you haven't jinked the rest of us flying out of Flint, staying at PO-R :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Flying out of Flint in Dec to Tpa. Thanfully my first and last name combined is only 11 letters including my middle only 14. Lol did u do a park sleep fly in Flint? We have booked the comfort inn so far.

So you got on the plane with everything you had at the start of this episode and the plane and all the pax landed safely. Sorry the Airport Security Screeners put you through all that.

Just curious, is you last name ethnic? Middle Eastern, South Asian or something equally "suspicious?"

We were flying USAir with long names, printed boarding passes at CB. When we got to TSA they had a problem with the resort boarding pass, not sure why, but I think the agent finished writing in three letters of my first name, also long name.
The boarding pass has Mickey with wings imprinted......maybe it is glitch at resort printing the boarding pass.
I never gave it a thought after the agent seemed to get an okay noting resort background.

No Southwest did have to print us different boarding passes, ones that printed our full last name and first names.
