Southwest Birthday Celebration starting??

The homepage mentions 41 years....prices are lower than yesterday....And as usual, I should have bought during last weeks sale.

my prices are higher, airtran had $99 flights last week I didn't buy in hopes of the SW BDAY sale, I should have bought them, now those flights are $139 ugh.,,,,,,

I did the same thing. I should have purchased the SW flight down that was $99 and the Airtran $99 flight home. Even with bag fees would have been less.

I am such a dope.

I'm assuming it's the sale. It's so frustrating especially when everyone is ready to leave for work today. Do we keep checking or is this it??? It makes sense to me if the banner is advertising the sale, this is the sale...but prices are higher than usual. And, many of us can't spend the day checking the site. Oh well, it was nice to hope prices would decrease a bit

I called because I thought maybe there was supposed to be a link that was not working and the lady I spoke to said that the birthday sale was last week when they had the 72 hour sale. I am not sure she is right though. In the past the sale has been Tuesday through Thursday so I still have hopes for tomorrow but who knows.

Based on years past the SW employee is right last week was the birthday sale. In the past the sale covered flight from Sept to Nov just like last week sale covered.

I am not sure. The sale last week did not mention anything about being its birthday sale and it was a week earlier than it has been the past two years but it was Tuesday through Thursday like the birthday sales have been. If it was the birthday sale then it was very restricted because there was nothing for my area. Like I said I am still hoping to see something tomorrow and if we don't then it probably was last week. But don't give up hope just yet

I would think that the birthday sale will start tomorrow. Just a bit weird they have published the 41th birthday sale banner today.
This banner was not there when last week sale was on so pretty good chances that the BD sale will start tomorrow. At least, this is what I hope as I still need some good prices for the flights I need !

The flight that I have been watching for MCO>PHL for Saturday morning 8/18 dropped $20 from $146 to $125 from last night until today. I went ahead and purchased as I don't see a Saturday morning flight the last week of summer before school starts being any cheaper than this

Now waiting for tomorrow to see what deals there are for 8/9 or 8/10 to fly down!

Where are you guys seeing a birthday sale banner? On the main southwest page I see Celebrating 41 years of high flying fun but it doesn't mention a sale. Also, last weeks sale didn't mention anything about celebrating their birthday. I'm crossing all my fingers and toes and hoping for something tomorrow.

Called SWA. She said it is just an annoucement about their birthday, but they do not anticipate a sale. She did say the website states Celebrating 41 years, but it doesn't indicate a "sale".

We will have to just wait until tomorrow to see. As far as calling, no retail business would tell you the truth about a sale because then everyone would just buy at the sale price.

I work 11pm-7am and just checked. Prices are a little higher than when I was checking last week. Maybe later today, prices will go down. I've never flown Southwest, but since American is over $300.00, was willing to give them a try.

I noticed you fly out of Dallas too. We've always flown out of DFW and use the Park n Fly over off S. Royal Lane for parking. Do you know if there is one over close to Dallas Lovefield? We've never flown out of there. Thanks!
