We got super cheap flights at ohare and can now switch to midway for $120 more....worth it or save the $$$ for our trip?? We do economy parking

O’Hare has much cheaper parking. Midway often has cheaper flights, but much more expensive parking. We almost always pick O’Hare over Midway.

Midway is usually about $15 per day on or offsite. I’m paying less than half that for an offsite lot at ORD. We usually go for at least 10 days so it’s a big difference.

Frankly, we usually end up at MKE because of the price and cheap parking. I have a stay and fly at the La Quinta for $133 with a free shuttle for 15 days of parking.

I did look at MKE as well and didn't see anything too affordable 😢

If you're not averse to a shuttle and don't live right next to MDW, I wouldn't change. I paid $150 for a night at the Hampton just down 294 from ORD that included parking for up to two weeks.
At MKE there is a Four Points by Sheraton that is across the street from the airport with a secure lot for park stay fly packages.

Part of my decision would be how long to get to either airport? Is the travel time enough of a distance/time factor to enter into the decision?

I live an hour north of Milwaukee, so while Milwaukee is our preferred airport, would also consider Orhare if the cost difference made sense. Midway would be a real logistical stretch for us, considering traffic, and extra travel time.

Same drive for us. We are 3 hours away

You must be very close to me. I'm in OSH. I've done both ORD and MDW when nonstops out of MKE weren't available or the price was insane. When I did MDW, it was $49 to MCO and it was $300 from MKE. I usually fly early in the morning so I need a hotel regardless of the which airport.
I think if coming from anywhere outside the city of Chicago itself ORD is as easy to get to as MDW. The time it takes to get from 294 to MDW is not that much shorter than taking it all the way around to ORD.

For SW, we usually choose MDW over ORD going to MCO because SW has many more available flights on that route. Particularly in the bad weather months, the additional options to switch to an earlier flight to get ahead of weather or to rebook after a cancelled flight due to weather make MDW a better choice for us. But, we’re in the western suburbs of Chicago, 27 miles from either airport and only drive and park for shorter trips where parking is cheaper than the cost of rideshares to and from the airport.

Midway has economy parking for $15 per day. The shuttle bus comes frequently and it is a very short ride. We live near Midway and it is much easier for us to use than O'Hare. But the drive to Midway from the Milwaukee area would be more than a 1/2 hour longer than the drive to O'Hare would be.
