Southwest and OIA

We flew out of MCO on Saturday, June 13th, and it was the worst I'd ever seen the Southwest line. Normally, the line looks bad, but moves pretty quickly. This line looked bad and was bad. ;) We usually fly off season though, but almost always Saturday morning. I did attempt to fly home on a Thursday once (which ended up being canceled and then tried again Saturday, LOL) and there was absolutely no line. Although, the security lines were twice as long on Thursday as they were the following Saturday. You can't win. ;)

And I encountered an unnecessarily rude SWA employee there, too - wonder if it was the same one? I was taken aback because I've never, ever encountered a rude SWA employee (that I can recall). I clicked the wrong button on my screen and she made a big deal about it and told everyone around me that they'd have to wait because she had to clean up "this mess". It was kinda humiliating. And it only took like 20 seconds to fix, so it was kinda over the top to make an issue about it.

I have to say that I would have had to have a snappy comeback to that comment. Maybe something to the effect of...'Wow, if this is what SW considers to be a mess, I'll be flying with a better equipped airline the next time we fly!!! Sorry to hold everyone up back there.' That was really uncalled for...it's her job to help you out. Man. That's discouraging to hear.

How about:
If none of us needed help you'd be out of a job
.

Without reading other replies, I'd say yes, the Southwest lines are always that bad. :rotfl2: They seem to do a good job at moving everyone along as quickly as possible, though. I left dh in the luggage line to go to the bathroom, and was shocked at how far he'd moved up. The lines outside (the luggage drop off where you tip - what's it called?) was also very busy our last trip.

I have never encountered rude employees, though. Rushed, but not rude.

I'd be curious to see statistics on how many WDW guests use Southwest versus other airlines.

I'm more than happy to deal with lines if it means great rates on airfare for my family of 5. :thumbsup2
