I'm just wondering...anyone from the Long Island area who uses
Macarthur Airport? If so, how far in advance do they post flights to
MCO(Orlando) Airport? I'll be heading down Feb 19 '06...I heard it's around
5 months out from said travel date...true?
-Thanks!
:rolleyes1

SWA releases all their flights at the same time for the different airports. So MacArthur will come out the same time as any other airport schedule. Unfortunately, they do wait until just a few months before to release the dates. They only recently, maybe a few weeks ago, released the dates for Christmas. Keep an eye out here, there's usually a few threads looking for the same dates to open up :)

They are currently booking through January 9. The next time they add dates they will probably either stop short of the dates that cover President's day or go to some time in early March. It looks like you're planning to head down for President's day holiday which will be tough to get at a low fare. If the fare seems reasonable to you, book it. If they lower it you can rebook & get a credit if your dates/flight times are available at the lower rate. Keep checking the SWA website. If you haven't signed up for their e-mails do it now. This will remind you to check the website at least once a week. They don't really announce when they add new dates but the reservation page always tells you what date they are booking through. A good fare from MacArthur is $79 or less each way. I've booked my last 5 trips through them and ended up with $49 each way for all of them. Another tip, if they post dates that only go as far as your departure but not return you can always purchase 1-way to lock in a good price and buy the return when those dates become available. I had to do this for my Oct/Nov trip.

From what I remember, SWA updates their new schedule on Thursdays. So if you check their website and don't see your dates, check back the following Thursday.

And it usually around 10 or 11 central time that the schedule is opened up, so it doesn't hurt to check a couple of times on Thursday, especially if you first check early in the morning.
