Southwest Airlines

Anyone predicting what the rates will start out at for flights? I was trying to price for the last week available to schedule and it looks like about $145 each way for me. Do you think it will be lower or about the same? I'm just wondering if I should wait for a ding but then I don't want to risk not having the flight either.

Not open yet, what's the hold up.:surfweb: I'm ready:banana:

I wish that they'd post the schedule at least a day before going on sale. I'm trying to coordinate between 2 flights to get to and from Orlando. I don't know if I'll book a Wed. to a Wed. or a Sat. to a Sat.

ran a few errands and am now waiting semi-patiently.:rolleyes1

People have received emails today from Southwest saying that the schedule will be opened up at 12:00PM CT, meaning 1:00PM ET.

Thanks for the tip, so I can stop refreshing every 5 sec.:rotfl2:

I just saw under the travel tools page that flights are now open through 10/30.. but before I came back to report, I tried to book. No dice!! It still says only through 8/13. AHHHHH!:confused3:surfweb::headache:

:confused3did anyone else just get the SW ding saying "You are now free to book travel through October 30, 2010" ?? And I went to the website, and you're not free to book yet !! It only goes to August 13. I keep refreshing the website and it's still August 13. Why would they tease us like this !!! :confused3

I just got a Ding that flights are now open through October 30th....but still nothing past August on the home page.

It's torture, I tell ya...torture!

It is up if you type in the dates manually, if I tried the calendar it only showed to Aug 13, but when I typed in 9/23 it worked. I was able to book at $89 each way out of LI so considering last yr I pd $99 and $140 I am fairly happy. I can always rebook at a lower price and take the credit if it drops significantly.

I'm leaving out of LI, too. My outbound is $89, but the return is $109.

I think I might wait a bit, because last year I was able to get a $79 rate for each leg.

Jet Blue's RT is slightly lower out of LGA and JFK, but when you factor in $100+ for car service to/from, SW out of ISP is a better deal. For me, anyway.

but the schedule, at least out of Htfd, CT (BDL) stinks!!! What happened to my early morning non-stop???? The first n/s doesn't arrive until 2:20. I want to be having lunch in Epcot by then!!!!

Prices out of Philly for the same week as in 09 are almost twice as much. ***. Same with AirTran.

We were really happy with what we were able to get from Chicago for our Sept 4-11 trip. We got an early morning flight out (9:30 am) and a late morning flight back (11:50 am). After using our $86 credit, the total came out to $452.20 or 150.73 pp r/t. I can't imagine that it will get any lower than $79 each way especially over a holiday week.

So if you book, is there an easy way to monitor price drops to get a credit? Didn't even know you could do that with SW, but it's the first time flying them. Thanks!

What we did was just check every week or so and by doing this we saved $43 pp on our last flights. You can do this direct on SW website.
