Hi All -

I just noticed that cable channel A&E is doing an "Airline" marathon right now! (Monday afternoon, July 5th) If you've never seen this show, you should tune in! The show is about Southwest Airlines' employees and customers - dealing with the day-to-day business of flying. Today's marathon is of the shows from this last season, but new episodes will air tonight at 10pm. :)

I have been watching some of them. I cant believe how some of those people act.

I've been watching it and I think it's hysterical! They way some people act in public. Sheesh........

I had never watched this show before and I am amazed. My dad worked for United Airlines for 30+ years and my brother has worked for USAir for 31 years. I never knew they had to put up with this type of behavior. I can't believe people actually act this way ON CAMERA!!

After I watch it I always think..."My job really is not so bad"

Those employees put up with sooooo much!

Love the show!

I had never seen this show before today. Wow - just amazing what some of these people will do on camera. Also what they expect the airlines to do.

Two cases in point - the woman who had to get to Vegas and so the airline would have to take her mother to the hospital since they wouldn't let her on.

Or the woman who kept insisting that the airline had to get her family on another flight because the mother needed her medication that they put in checked bagage

Of course you also get some great stories like the couple adopting a baby and the gospel group flying for the first time.

Neat show.

I have been watching this for a while today.

It's crazy.... :)

I think the women who told the airline that they had to take her mother in law to the hospital since they wouldn't let her on the plane with oxygen was crazy. If the doctor won't ok her to go two hours w/o oxygen why would you be willing to take the risk with a loved on?

The women's who's medication was in the checked bags... yes a stupid move however from what I understood it took the airline a long time to get the wheelchair to the women to get them to the plane. I do think part of the blame is on the airline.. they should either get them on another flight, or get the bags back on another flight that day.

Did you see the one with the women who was going to San Diego with her two sons and she missed the airlplane because she got there twenty minutes early???? HELLO.... she tried saying the girl took to long with her credit card and caused her to miss it..... doesn't make sense.... she never would have made it through security. Yeah, that's the airline's fault!!

Poor guy who's girlfriend never checked in and wasn't home. WOnder what happened to Meeko and Mimi! :)

Never seen this show before. It is like watching a train wreak. I can not tear myself away from it.

Did you notice that his girlfriend was the really drunk girl they wouldn't allow to fly? The one saying she was supposed to be getting married the next day. When she took out a picture of her boyfriend, you could see it was the stuntman waiting for her.

Who are Meeko and Mimi?

I can't tear myself away from this.....of course I am laid up on the couch for the most part-lol. Still can't believe what happens behind the scenes. Is this only a Southwest thing or do they do other airlines?

It's just Southwest. However the other airlines should take note... as I believe SW is the only US airline operating in the black currently. They obviously aren't afraid to think outside of the box. Who'd have known it would be so entertaining!

Meeko was the stuntman, Mimi was the girlfriend he was waiting for.

I didn't notice that. I thought that drunk girl was going to Cleveland and she was in Midway. The stuntman was in LA and his girlfriend was coming in from Orlando. hum???

We took Southwest last week on our vacation. It was our first time riding Southwest and I kept thinking that they should have taped what happened before the flight for their show. I've flown a lot in my life, but I've never experienced what I did at BWI. People were being so rude, cutting in line in order to get on the plane first and just plain being mean to others. It felt like a cattle call and we joked how it brought out the "worst in humanity". It was rather funny and I kept thinking that it should have been on that A&E show, Airplane.

Thankfully, the flight from San Diego to BWI was uneventful and people were nice to each other!!:hyper:

I cannot believe the things people expect for a situation that is of their own making. That granny on oxygen? Her family signed her out of a rehab facility against medical advice to take a planned VACATION to Vegas! And the woman with her sons that got to the airport less than 30 minutes before their flight- give me a break! And kudos to SW for not boarding obviously intoxicated people. I have been on too many flights that turn into nightmares because of drunks that obviously had a head start in the airport bar.

I love this show!!! The new season starts tonight. I have to admit I recorded the marathon today-- so I can watch it later. I can't believe some of the stuff people will pull or think they are entitled to.

I love that show! I'm tivoing the new episodes tonight.

That is EXACTLY what I'm thinking! Holy cow!! The worst customer I've ever had has nothing on some of these fools. Wow.

And also, a note to my fellow DB refugees: I am clearly losing my mind; I actually cried at a TV show twice in the last hour. Once with the couple adopting the baby from China, and again at the ruined wedding dress. (That second one was before the woman appeared - after that, I didn't feel so sorry for her.)

SWA may be in the black, but they encourage that cattleline and pushiness by not allowing for assigned seats - it's "grab a seat when you get on the plane!" UGH!

I think that the American public should pay attention to this show. Flying isn't what it used to be. If you are belligerant or drunk, you WILL be denied access to the plane.

The new season got off to a great start tonight.

I really felt for the body-building provisions agent. What a story!

I told Chris that this guy would be flooded with female attention after this show.

I agree!! Soutwest flys out of an airport 15 minutes from my house but I choose to go 50 minutes the other way to fly jet blue where the employees are the best I have ever experienced and they actually assign you seats!! I called southwest for a flight to orlando and I could not believe what they told me....they told me that even though they do preboard families with small children that since I was goign to Orlando and everyone would be a family with small children they could not gaurentee I would be seated with my child....HELLO???SHE IS 4 YEARS OLD!!! There is no way in heck I am going to be seated anywhere that is not right next to my child....their system STINKS!!!
