SWA just announced a $39, $79, $119 sale. Hopefully this will help someone. I just saved $100 on our flights for September.

DBF told me about the promo as well. The rates are good for travel between Sept 8 and Nov 17 (but Fridays and Sundays are excluded). $39 airfare for flights 0-450 miles, $79 for flights 451-1000 miles and $119 1001+ miles. MHP anyone?

ETA: the rates are only good through Thursday so book now!

Got our Nov ones for to SNA, now I'll have to wait for a Ding fare for the way home as it's after the sale end date.

I'm keeping my eye out for SW or JetBlue sales for March of next year. I'm guessing they will be open for sale for March in August? Not necessarily cheaper, but actually available to purchase.

I had already booked our flights, but I did get $160 back in my travel bank for our next trip!!!

Gah... I'm going to FL in September, and to go there is $119.... to come back is $143. Maybe i should just get the one way for now...

We just booked our Halloween trip, Oct 9-16. Also found out that apparently Phoenix is less than 450 miles from SNA, while Tucson isn't. Some flights from PHX were only $39 each way, it was $79 from TUS. That makes it well worth the hour drive, maybe even a hotel for the night before (it's an early flight out).

I was finally able to book our flights for September. SNA was not offering any $39 flights from RNO. By switching to LAX we were able to snag the $39 rate. I had a free RR ticket along with an $86 credit and the $25 promo code. I was able to get flights for the 3 of us for $110 total out of pocket. This saved us over $300!!

Alaska Airlines and Jet Blue also seem to have sales going on. At least from Portland, OR, all 3 airlines have tickets for $79 each way.

well, with the tip I just booked my DD to come home from Portland to Boise for the week she has between summer and fall session, for $99.40 roundtrip on direct Southwest flights.A great deal, and well worth having her home for a week.

When we were looking at flights last night, US Air also had flights for the same rate as Southwest. But after looking into it we found that they also charge for checked bags, $23 for the first and $33 for the second.

Since we can't fit a weeks worth of cloths in a carry-on, we elected for SW, which will let our bags fly free.
