I signed up for the credit card and the page went to an approval page but then told me to close it out. How long before they send me a credit card or some kind of acknowledgement?

Received my card yesterday in the mail. Called to activate it right away. While on the phone with the customer service rep she was going through everything and paused when she came to telling me what the sign on bonus included .. I was worried she was going to offer a lower amount of points but she said "Congratulations it seems you were able to receive a card with 50,000 points. We no longer offer that program so congratulations!" Big sigh of relief .. I was afraid they would knock it down to the current 25,000 promo.
Now I'm just waiting on my first purchase made last nite to post so I can pay it online right away .. and get the clock started. Our trip is 9/5 so not much time to waste in getting the necessary gift certificates before the trip.
Slightly different question from me... I was already approved for the card but I don't even have an RR number yet!I should've just signed up for RR first - and then when I remembered I needed to do that, I'd already submitted the CC application online.
Will they assign me a RR number as a new card customer, or should I apply for a RR number separately and have it added to the cc account?
I think the offer is good until May 17th? I'm pretty sure that's what it said when I applied this morning.
Awesome! I hope that is the case b/c my co-worker is looking to sign up for the card but when you go online the present promotional is for just 25,000 points. I'll have her try to use the link that I used for 50,000 and hope that it works!
Your Rapid Rewards points never expire as long as you make one qualifying flight or take advantage of any other RR earning opportunity during a 24-month period.I just applied and was accepted right away. Does anyone know if you have to use the 50,000 points within a certain period of time? I have a trip coming up next June that I would love to use the points for, but I hope they won't expire before then!
Your answer was on the first page of this thread:How do you know how many points your flight costs?
I'm thinking about opening a credit card to get the 50,000 points.
We need 3 roundtrip flights from Chicago to Florida in Sept. Flights right now for 3 roundtrip tickets for my dates are around $1,000 with taxes, fees, etc.
Would the 50,000 points cover that?
OR
Should I have my husband open a card too?
How much $ does 50,000 points cover?
TIA!
Based on what I wrote then, and what is still true today, it would take 60,000 RR points to pay for $1000 in airfare. You cannot combine RR points from two account to make your purchase, so you would have toThe number of points is based on the dollar value of the ticket at the time that you book. It takes 60 RR pts/dollar for Wanna Get Away fares. So, a $100 airfare would cost 6,000 RR points.
The good thing is that if you book and your price goes down, you can re-book the same flight and have the extra points returned to your RR account immediately. I just did it this morning and had 2600 points returned to my account!
