Southwest Airlines $20 off discount- available from Coke Rewards again

The fine print says, "Only good on round trip" anyone get it to work on one way?/

If I were to use this code and then changed my flights for a cheaper fare would I be able to use the code again, or would I need a new one?? TIA

So a little insight before I offer my info on this post. I originally booked a roundtrip fare (no discount) when the fares went way down a few weeks ago. I called to change the trip and used the code (round trip again). After further investigating, I decided to cancel the return flight (since I chose the latest return date at the time..2 days before our actual return) and book later.

I asked the Customer service lady this. If I call and rebook my entire trip can I use the discount. She said yes! She explained that since I will be canceling my trip, no matter how it is credited (future travel or back to a credit card within 24 hours of booking) it will show as a "new booking" therefore I will be able to use the discount.

She also told me that it is only for a roundtrip ticket..not one way.

So..if I decide to change my outbound (which I am hoping to do) and cancel that..then turn around and book the total roundtrip fare I will be able to use the discount code on all of our tickets. I'm watching SWA like a hawk for their anniversary sale within the next few weeks. Hope that helped and wasn't too confusing.

But our returning flight is still very high (with code, $185) so I'd like to get that lower if possible. I'm wondering if flights drop and I cancel and rebook, what happens to the code I redeemed?

No, the code I used went towards my original purchase so I will have to use a new code. I've already racked up another 80 points and shouldn't have a problem getting the other 20 before I book again.

I'm actually a Pepsi drinker but my employer supplies several 12 packs a week for staff and I've been collecting the points. I am only collecting the points for the SWA code and only need 1 for all our tickets. If I collect enough for 2 awards, I'm happy to give you 1. I'm fairly certain I can easily get 2

I don't think so. As it was explained to me, I would have to cancel the tickets and rebook to use the discount. Couldn't hurt to call and ask though!
