Their airfare is the cheapest I've seen and they allow 2 free checked bags per person for free. We've only flown a few times so I'm a newbie. We flew down a few years ago and used Jet Blue and Continental through Newark but are looking to use Philadelphia airport. Any negatives we should be warned of?
Oh and does anyone know about their parking lots? We were wondering how safe their lots are. Thanks-

I'm half way between Newark an Philly airports but only
go to Newark if I can't get a direct flight out of Philly.

Philly is big but so is Newark, so I can't think of any real negatives
about Philly.

I stopped using economy parking at PHL about 5 years ago
and use a parking service. It's cheaper and faster, look up
Winner airport parking, they drop you off and pick you up
in your own car.

I live near Reading and we always fly out of Philly because it's so cheap. We also park there in economy and have never had a problem. Dh also travels frequently from there. You can't beat Southwest's prices, especially with the 2 free checked bags now.

when we went to DW we did a park and fly at the sheriton four points it cost 120.00 for the night and included parking for up to a week they took us to the airport and droped us off the cost to park for the week then would have been about 100.00 and picked us up when we got back

I  Southwest. You can make any ticket changes without a fee, including if the fare for your flight drops. You don't get a refund, per se, but ticketless travel funds to use within 1 year. These funds are totally transferable so they can be used by anyone. They do not assign seats, but have Open Boarding. Read here for more information

I have only parked in the airport Economy lot once. It took 30 minutes to reach the terminal after we parked the car. I use Winner Airport parking all the time. It is a valet service, so if you are reluctant to let someone drive your car, this service isn't for you. I pay for the White Glove Service, so they pick me up at the airport and I can leave directly from there. It is really nice to come back to a warmed up (or cooled off) car. There are other options, as well as discounts at

Southwest flies out of Terminal E at PHL. Fares from PHL have been running about $100 each way, but I have seen Ding! fares for as low as $80 each way.

Google Pacifico Valet and check them out! I've been using them for 5 years, probably close to 20 times and they are awesome. No appt. needed, just drive in and they then drive you in your car to the airport. Unload your luggage and you are on your way. When you return, call them after you get your luggage and they arrive in less than 15 minutes, pack your car and drive you back to the Valet place (about maybe a 10 min ride?). You pay and are on your way! 24 hour security, coupons always available online, you can even get your car serviced and washed while you're gone! They are great, never had any issues. Even arrived back in a blizzard, they had car cleaned, de-iced, and all warm and toasty by the time we got in it! And very reasonably priced! Love them!

Per day fee is about the same as economy parking, add another 10 bucks or so for the white glove option. Every 10th use is free at Winner, I save them for vacations :).

what kind of prices are these valet services?

The Pacifico Valet I wrote about is $9 a day for the first 4 days, $8 next 3 days, and $6 a day after that. But they always have coupons. Sometimes for a few dollars off the first few days, 10% off total, etc. Great place!
