I keep on being told to arrive very early (at least 1.5 hours) for departure. I've been on charters flying out of Toronto Saturday early morning. Each and everytime it is a zoo, unorganized and invariably I've arrived too early. How could Southwest be worse. I want to arrive at 6:45 am for 8:00 am flight, and keep being told I'm cutting it too close. There is curbside check and staying at hotel within 1 mile of the airport, so there is no problem with customs or arriving late.

Is there any reason to arrive any earlier? Hotel has breakfast and I don't want to be sitting arround for nothing. Direct flight 2.5 hours.....

If you arrive at 6:45. by time u get thru check in and security, it will be close to 7:15, maybe 7:30. Last time took us close to 45 minutes. Southwest boards on a first come first serve basis, no assigned seating. You wait in line, get a number and thats how they let u onto the plane. 1-30 30-60 then so on. They start handing out the numbers, one hour before boarding. SO, if you dont mind where u sit, or the possiblity that your family may be split up, then there is no real hurry. So, u could arrive at the time, and have no prob, but it depends on ur family situation, and if its important to have a good seat. Hope this helps.

Thanks.... 2 and 2 is no problem for me. It will be a pleasure arriving in Orlando and not having customs and lines. As for bags, they aren't there when you arrive anyways......
