Southern Elegance's website indicates that Disboards users voted them #1 in Orlando??

I have posted several positive replies about SE and I am sure they wish now that they would have checked with the moderators about their banner. I am actually a little surprised that they even visit the disboards. I also feel that more of these companies that reap the benefits of these boards should be sponsors. I know that it was my pleasure to sponsor these boards since I have gained so much information, saved quite a bit of money from the info here and I am financially able to do so.

OK. Did a search and found 77 threads that mention Southern Elegance. That's a pretty small number actually - the DIS has over 665,000 threads (over 6.7 million posts). No one can possibly read every one. Guess there have to be more than 77 for me to remember them, LOL!

We're using them in December, based mostly on glowing reviews we read here. They have been absolutely incredible so far, and I've asked for some sort of special things - a wrapped Pal Mickey waiting in the car with a note from the Main Mouse himself, some specific snacks and drinks for the ride, etc. I don't know about the banner since I didn't see it, but it does sound kind of wierd. However, I still have no worries about using them for our trip. Their service so far has been just amazing.

I guess it would make sense that the disboards could only have one "specialty" sponsor...I am curious about this also.


I also agree with GEM (WOOO PIG SOOOIE!!!GO HOGS!!!) in that I have received fantastic service with Southern Elegance and honestly could not see myself using any other company unless SE was not available. I hate to see what looks to be a misunderstanding (we disers also sometimes "break the board rules"...for the most part, not intentionally) possibly leave a "bad mark" on what I consider to be a wonderful company.

I don't know if the DIS can have more than two sponsers.

I did want to say that although I didn't agree with SE putting up that banner I will probably be trying them out on one of my next trips. (And I'm glad to hear they acknowledged their mistake.) I have read a lot of positive things about them within the recent months. I used to like Cartier but got scared from reading so many negative posts about them.

I believe in their questionnaire, they ask how we heard about them.

The banner is gone; I agree with the poster who said they liked that a company corrects its own mis-judgments (and that's all this probably was).

There was very little about SE until about last Dec. or Jan., as I recall. I was choosing a limo company, found SE suggested by one or two people, but definitely a "minor" company in terms of mention here. I decided to give them a chance, and liked their prices and their e-mail contacts with me (quick, precise, and friendly); even before I went, I think I posted about that. After we used them in March, and had an excellent experience, I made it a point to post about them whenever possible, because a big part of the value of these boards is information from others, and not many people knew about SE. Since then, quite a few others have read good reports here from an increasing number of folks, used SE themselves, and come back with positive feedback. Nothing sinister or mysterious about that...just the reward to a company of doing an outstanding job!

How sad! I see there is still this contraversy over car companies. I was just so pleased with the service of Southern Elegance that I wanted to share this with others.Thought that was what this board was all about. Believe me, before we took this trip I did my research from this board to come to this decission to use them. Instead its turned into this ridiculous debate. I've noticed also there are people who have posted thousands of times which is fine. But I doubt after this I will be one of them. I greatly appreciated the information I received from here for our trip & I thank you for that.

The beauty of the DIS is many people sharing their ideas. Not everyone needs to agree. What works for one person may not work for another. If you continue to visit the DIS you will see the sharing of ideas. They don't always agree.

Hang in there, weddingmom! It sounds like someone jumped the gun when questioning your positive posts regarding SE. Since you are new, you might not be aware that another less-than-reputable towncar company used to come to this board and post false, glowing reports of his company to boost positive feedback. That person and company is no longer welcome here, and I'm afraid some people are still (with good reason) suspicious. DON'T LET THAT DETER YOU FROM GIVING US YOUR FEEDBACK REGARDING YOUR DISNEY EXPERIENCE! I hope you had a GREAT time!!

I'm also surprised that many of you, who have been coming here for years, have not heard of SE before now.... though I would admit it's not exactly a memorable name for a transportaion company!

Shame on SE for posting that it was "voted" #1 by the Disboards! How silly.

At this point 100% of your posts (8 for 8) are nothing but great reviews of SE. You haven't posted anything else regarding your trip or posted before your trip with any questions or comments.

I am still curious why this is the only topic Weddingmom posts on. I am entitled to be curious just as you may be curious about me.
