We have played golf at SD many times and are very familiar with the area. First of all it is no where near Celebration. Not sure where that came from. SD is in Haines City about 10 miles south of the I-4 and 27 junction. It is about as far out from Disney as you can get and still call it "close to Disney." Figure 20-25 minutes to Disney parking lots.
The course is one of the best around if you like golf. I always recommend it to any golfers in the area. This is a big housing developement that is 90 % houses and 10% condos. The condos are on one street and there is a little swimming pool by the condos and a big community pool that would be a 5 minute or so walk.
The area is beautiful. The condos have always looked a little unkept. I think they are all rentals and have struggled because they really are only golf condos and not Disney. I know 3 or 4 are for sale and if I was going to retire permanently to Florida, they would be a good deal at about 109,000 for a 3/2. and then do some serious paint and carpet. I have a hunch they are pretty well worn from weekly rentals.
There are at least 20 condos so some of them may be just beautiful.
If you want close to Disney, this is going to stretch it.
The only noise problem would be mowers early in the morning.
