Hi all,

We are considering the San Juan Southern Caribbean cruise for January 2016. Looking for pros/cons from people who have done it.. Are the daily ports stops to much? We would be traveling with a 7 and 11 year old, I want to make sure we have tome to enjoy the ship as well as port days, was thinking of maybe skipping a port to enjoy the ship as we would really only have the one sea day. We have cruised on the Fantasy and are booked for the Magic out of NY in Oct, so looking for a less expensive option for the winter.. Thanks in advance!!

It was the best itinerary we have done. My second favorite vacation (my favorite is still our honeymoon in Fiji). That being said we spent almost no time on the ship. The islands were so beautiful we were usually off first thing in the morning and back right before dinner. I can't wait to do a Southern again but for that reason we are also considering other cruise lines based on price.

We have yet to sail these islands but I have to say, we are so excited! I feel like the itinerary is very port intensive so we solved that by booking the Jan 31 and the repo to Miami. The repo was a great rate and we have our turnaround day, a sea day and 1 port repeated , oh and we get castaway cay! It may work for you as well!

So glad I'm doing Royal for our first (and long-awaited) Southern cruise. I can't imagine what Disney would cost for it! Of course, booking it yesterday for December of 2016 also helped with the fabulous price. :)
