Finally got the green light to keep my reservation on the 10-day southern carribean (yay!). Now that I've convinced hubby, I'm second guessing myself. Is the 10-day worth it? Would be giving up a 7-day SWDAS and selling some DVC points to do it. If yes, 10-day or the 11-day...which itinerary is better? Any advice is appreciated!

So just my two cents, given that I've never been on anything longer than a 7 night, I was going to book the 10 or 11 night. Unfortunately, our summer schedule ruled out the 11 and now cost has ruled out the 10 night. I am super bummed and would not second guess the decision you have made! Those destinations are not as easy to get to as the Western/Eastern Caribbean destinations and as prices seem to be trending up, now seems to be the time to book on DCL. I am sure you'll have a blast and 3/4 additional nights of pampering!! Enjoy your cruise.

We will be doing a DCL Summer 2017 7 night Western Caribbean. If DS had Spring Break during one of the SWDAS cruises, we would be doing that in a heartbeat. However, it just didn't line up this year or next:( We are also Star Wars fans. I have always wanted to do a Southern Caribbean, but I want Antigua and/or Trinidad/Tobago. So, DCL would be out for me. After looking at RCCL, I think they have a better SC itinerary than DCL, and they have many 7 night SC sailings. The RCCL price is significantly less than DCL, like probably less than half. Maybe look at some other options and read some SWDAS trip reports (link to a current one below) to see if you still want the DCL SC cruise.

If money is no issue and you want to do it, do it. If you are at all worried about the cost, or feel badly about the cost, that is your brain telling you not to do it. But as Jiminy Cricket says, "a conscience is that still small voice that people don't listen to."

Thanks all for the great advice! Our family loves Star Wars so it definitely makes the decision harder. @Hundredacre your advice on conscience is spot on. Love the Southern Carribean itinerary but not sure I can sleep with the +$1k per day price tag.
