South West has a $59 oneway fare from Philly to Orlando, good from mid June through July. I would book quickly if you need tickets, or have them at a higher price.

They also have Providence & Hartford to Orlando for 59/each way & Manchester to Tampa for 59/each way

Waiting for these rates in OCT.

We need Philly to Orlando for 10/28 to 11/6. Any idea when these dates will open? They're booing through 10/27 now, so hopefully soon!

Does anyone know--

Once a fare has been published, can/does Southwest lower the fare to fill empty seats. Basically, I'm wondering if it is a good idea to book our flight now or later (vacation is in October) --as it gets closer to the vacation. Could the price come down?????????

Book it now, Southwest raises the prices as the plane fils up. Only so many seats at that low fare. Enjoy those low fares while they last and I'd jump right on them. Airfares are creeping up and up.

Personaly, I pay more to not fly Southwest. Those cattle call line ups with people sleeping on the floor are too much for me. Also eating my knees with a 2 plus hour flight is not enjoyable. I'll book American or anyone else that assigns seats and flys planes with some legroom and some frills.

Mark my words on this: Southwest has enjoyed a good ride but that ride is coming to an end. The hedge of fuel they had is coming to an end soon. Fares will increase and then people wil see that the "no frils" airlines with those sloppy employees isn't so great after all. Business is cyclical and there cycle is sliding down soon enough.

I have had quite a few belly laughs from those people wishing Southwest would come to there airport. :rotfl2: :lmao: Be careful what you wish for. Less choices hurts everyone in the end. Southwest driving people out of business with those low fares benefits nobody in the long run.

Happy travels,

Dave

I thought I was the only one who goes out of their way to avoid Southwest! :thumbsup2 The one time I took Southwest, they made us all get off the plane, and then reboard, even though we were going thru on that flight to Detroit! Now I pay extra if I have to, but I fly Northwest on a direct flight, and they usually upgrade me to first class. I LOVE first class!

I have flown Sw for years, never was in a cattle call line up or had to sleep on the floor nor did I ever have a delayed or bad flight. I will take a cheap fare from SW anytime.

I've never had a problem with SW--knock wood. I recently flew DELTA to Florida (Panama City). It was the worst flying experience, ever!!! Going and coming we were delayed (4 hours and six hours, respectively) -- with two children under the age of four and a husband-not sure who was worse!! Anyway-I will never fly DELTA again.

Now back to cheap airfares-----------

DWILLIAMS--at this time the flight is $220 on Southwest for an October flight. I'm hoping the price will come down a bit.

I agree with the two above posters......never had a problem with SW.......I love them!!! IMO their customer service is the BEST in the industry....no frill airline or not!!! I agree with above poster about Delta........I also will never fly them again after several bad experiences (everyone can have one bad experience, but, when several occur....well, something's wrong). I have an airport practically in my backyard, serviced by both Delta and USAirways, but, I prefer to drive 2 hours to PHL and fly SW for a few reasons......one...we can get direct flights....two.....their prices can't be beat (and LOVE the fact if the price comes down AFTER booking the customer is able to use the credit for future flights) and three......as I stated earlier, their customer service is the best in the industry. So, yes.......I do wish SW would come to my local airport also!!!!!

I like SWA. When they came to Indy olther airlines actually lowered their prices. competition is a good thing. Also, SWA is one of the few airlines that actually has cash in reserve for a rainy day. The other airlines are either in bankruptcy or struggling with cash flow.
