Hello fellow Beachers!
I haven't posted here in a while! DH and I went to WDW and got back 10 days ago. When I weighed myself the next morning after the trip I was showing a 4 pound gain!

But by the next morning, it was down to a 3 pound gain, then 2 days later a 2 pound gain, and by 3 days later, which was my "official" weigh in day at work, it showed NO GAIN at all from the previous week which was before the trip! So, I was thrilled that even though for 4 days DH and I went off of SBD and had frozen drinks, a burger and fries, Tonga Toast (we shared 1 order), our other food choices during the trip were probably very close to SBD guidelines (sirloin steak called Beef Teriyaki at the Kona Cafe, served with broccoli and mashed potatoes, sticky wings, etc), and in the end, we really did not gain a thing.

THAT weigh-in was last Friday; today I was down 1 pound at my weigh-in. Tomorrow we're going back 100% to following Phase 2 of SBD. In the past week we've been MOSTLY back to SBD but had a couple of meals that weren't exactly SBD approved. lol
TKERBELL: We got bored with breakfast too. We got bored with ALL meals, actually. What we did on the weekends was go out to our local diner-type place and order SBD approved meals; DH would order the steak and eggs (no toast, no home fries), and I'd order a western omelette and tell them to go easy on the ham and cheese, and heavy on the peppers. Also, no toast and no home fries). Now that we're on Phase 2, we will have whole wheat toast, though. No juice, though. DH has coffee and I have tea. I can put SweetNLow in tea, but NOT in coffee. lol So even now if I have coffee, I HAVE to put 2 tsp of real sugar in it.

DH does the same. We don't drink much coffee though, so it hasn't had an impact on our diets.
For snacks on Phase 1 we were pretty much stuck with Sugar Free Jello with Cool Whip Free.
As for water, I'd squeeze lemon and lime into ice water and drank that, sometimes I'll add a SweetNLow. Its pretty good. Just hang in there, Phase 2 gets MUCH better!!
andrychowski: I think you will see results as long as you try and follow it as closely as possible. Even on weeks where DH and I have had a few "extras", we've still seen results. Personally, what seems to mess me up sometimes is when I eat foods with too much salt, and then its water retention, but I like to see the results on the scale, whether its water or not, so I try and avoid salt and salty things as much as possible.
I, too, got the direct impression from the book (the chapters, not the recipes) that quantity is not as important as quality. During the times when I've been hungry, I'd have more plain chicken breast, an entire can of string beans (I did NOT just admit that. LOL), another salad, etc, just to get rid of the hunger, without going off the diet. It worked!!
Diet soda is ok on SBD; but I'd try and not overdo it because most diet sodas contain sodium. I know that Diet Rite soda is sodium free; I used to love their black cherry! LOL But if it comes down to diet soda or something really bad, go for the diet soda! lol
I know the book said that some caffeine each day was OK but to have MOST of your beverages be non-caf.
lovestoscrap: That toddler diet is hysterical!!!
katerkat: I try to do low-salt too, as well as low-fat, in addition to SBD. SBD diet is our "core" diet, then within that, we try and choose lower fat versions of foods such as cheese, and other things. The book basically recommends low fat anyway. Also, since I have high blood pressure, I'm just used to trying to keep away from salt, and I know that I retain fluids if I take in too much salt.
I hope everyone is doing well! I'll try and post here regularly!
