Sourcing Tripods 4 Hols

Hi DISers!

I'm trying to decide if a tripod would be best during my holidays.
just thinking practicality, would it easier to just buy a Gorillapod for my P & S for going round parks?

is it a nuisance (time consuming) having to stop, get the tripod ready, take pic then put it away? especialy in theme parks?

the only time i would use a tripod would be for fireworks, night shots. fireworks might not be much of a pain since you aren't really moving around but for walking around and setting up shots, yeah a big pain imho. a monopod or gorilla pod thing would probably be more convenient for that. a gorilla pod ought to do fine for your p&s (i would think) for both "wandering photographer " shots and night/fireworks
