We all slept late on Saturday to give our body and mind the rest that was needed. After a quick shower I ran down to the hotel deli and got us all some coffee. It was called Wolfgang Pucks special blend. It’s gotta be good with a name like that, right? Putrid. We all got dressed, grabbed our camera’s and headed out to get a bit to eat. When we pulled out onto 192 we quickly realized that something was a little odd with the traffic. There was a boatload of it. We were bumper to bumper stop and go for as far as the eye could see.

“What is with this **bleeping** traffic, they said on the boards that there would be very little crowds. Therearen’tsupposedtobemanypeoplehereatthistimeofyearwhatisgoingon?”

I was into a full blown panic. My wife calmed me down as she pointed out that it was a Saturday morning of a holiday weekend. “Oh ya, Columbus, riiiiiiight.”

So we tried to get some breakfast at the Denny’s but there was an hour long wait. We decided to try a different place. I quickly commandered the vehicle and took the neat little back road that runs beside our resort onto Disney property. We went all the way over to the Crossroads shopping center and grabbed some breakfast at the Perkins located there. We ordered and then we chatted about our plans for the day. We all wanted to do some shopping so me decided to hit a Target or Wal-Mart as my wife wanted to pick up a cheap bathing suit and my mom wanted to buy her grandkids some camoflauge pants. After about 45 minutes of talking I noticed we still had not gotten our food. I decided to go up to the front and ask for some directions to a Target or Wal-Mart. When I got back with the directions written down, I noticed no one was eating. Still no food. What the crippity crap? Well it turns out our waitress hadn’t entered our order. Long story short, free breakfast. NICE!

We all hopped in the car and headed to the new Super Target on 192 just East of the I4. It was just opened that week and was lightly populated. We spent a few hundred bucks here and then decided that an ice cream sundae was warranted. Off we raced for Downtown Disney and Ghiradellis where we had without question, one of the best fudge sundaes in the history of mankind.

After our great treats we did a quick tour of DTD and paid special attention to the Team Mickey store. That place is so cool; I could spend a fortune in there. I love the sound effects they pump in of the players playing ping-pong and basketball . We bought a few trinkets for people back home including a really cool Mickey bobble head. Once we got done with Team Mickey’s we decided to head for home and get ready for our 8:30 P/S at ‘Ohana’s.

We got mixed up on the drive into the Polynesian and ended up in the Magic Kingdom parking lot. We got directed to a parking spot and quickly got new directions from a cast member. He directed us back out towards the gates and to do a u-turn and try it again this time staying all the way right to get on the road to the resorts. This worked out great and in no time we were at the Polynesian resort. Told the guard we had dinner plans and he gave us a parking pass and off we went. I can’t believe how beautiful this resort is. My mom was just in love with the décor. The rainforest inspired lobby is very impressive. We were a bit late due to the mixup in the directions so we ran around trying to find the Restaurant. There aren’t really any signs telling you were to go so we all ran in separate directions. I found the stairs and got a glimpse of the place and did this sort of weird arm waving thing to get the attention of my mom and wife. I got some weird looks from some people and I explained that my arms were tired from the flight (rimshot, groan.) Even I was embarassed from my lameness. They kind of laughed and moved away from me. We got to the podium and I announced our arrival and gave them the reservation number. They explained it might be up to 20 minutes for a table. My wife, who wasn’t exactly knowledgable about the way Disney reservations work, quickly broke into her Senfield routine about them not being able to hold the reservation. I interrupted her to explain that it only puts you on a list for the next available table. She kind of groaned and smacked me for embarrasing her. Ya, like I put on the big act. We looked around and marveled the view. We could see the castle. It was all lit up and looked really really small. My mom requested we watch the fireworks from there. I explained that they had a beach we could sit on and she got even more excited.

Once we were seated, I ordered a Lapu Lapu for my wife and we watched a hula hoop competition. Man they make those girls work hard! When the drink came my wife got this huge grin on her face and gave the CM Rosa a high-five. We got Rosa to take some pictures and then the food came. We had steak, shrimp, turkey and pork, wontons, chicken wings, salad and green beans. Everything was simply amazing. I think I ate close to 25 shrimp. Our service was impeccable and the experience was something we will never forget.

After our pineapple caramel desert we all went for a walk down to the beach area as it was approaching ten o’clock. I started to get this tight feeling in my chest and out of nowhere I erupted in a huge 100 decibel belch. I had images in my head of all the guest suite lights flicking on and groggy people stumbling to the windows to see if the poolside volcano had finally erupted. I felt a lot better after that but about 2 minutes later I had another eruption. We grabbed a seat on the beach and enjoyed the Wishes show. My mom was crying. I was belching. My wife was trying to comfort me and enjoy the show. I would try and give out the occasional “Ohhh, Ahhh” between my horrible chest pains so that my mom and wife could enjoy themselves. I was in agony. My mom explained it was lucky that I was able to burp or else I would likely end up in the hospital. We got out of there and we headed to the hotel were I ate a bottle of tums and paced around the room until 2am. I finally got to sleep and woke up feeling great.

Well I am sorry that the night turned out that way for you but thanks for the report!

I loved reading a good review about Ohanas (I really want to try it but I read such mixed reviews) but then hearing about the belching after - oh my
