Staying at Riverside for sure. Looking to upgrade to either a standard preferred location room or a Royal room. Is the royal room really worth the extra money?
We had a River View RR, location was VERY convenient. As for the "worth it" aspect, that may depend on your kids - my dd4 ds7 LOVED it, really really loved it every day we were there they got excited about the decor, which made it totally "worth it" to me!
I agree completely with stephm0188. I just got back from POR three weeks ago, stayed in a Royal Room by the pool. The room is beautiful, very comfortable. Resort grounds are stunning as well. But the bus is more crowded than others resorts I stayed at and it seemed to take longer to get around. For me, the resort itself was just too big. I took a carriage ride to POFQ and that seemed much nicer, smaller and quiet. I would consider staying there over POR.
Looking forward to staying at Riverside. Does anyone know if its cheaper to book a package though Dreams Unlimited or the same price as going on the Disney site?
Hello, I'm glad to hear many positive posts about the resort itself, but I am wondering about the Royal guest rooms. We are a family of 5, myself, wife and 3 daughters, does anyone have any opinions on the royal guest rooms??
While we loved our Royal Guest Room, it is not one of the rooms at POR that sleeps five. Those rooms (that sleep five) are themed somewhat differently.
I'll also add that we did not tire of the room. It was beautiful. And if we weren't a family of five, we'd stay in them again (on our last trip, our youngest was still two, plus we traveled with the ILs, so one of our kids always stayed in their room).
Other than late buses on the morning of the 10k and half marathon (January), we didn't have any transportation issues.
We are booked at POR for our next trip (November 2015).
Buses don't go resort to resort; only parks and then you hop onto a resort bus.
At POR, you can also go to DTD, and catch the bus hub, but at certain times of day, it can take quite a long time to wait for the bus. It is more convenient to ride from the resort to DTD and then catch the water taxi to POR, which runs every ten minutes after 4 pm, with the last one leaving around 11:00 pm.
