SOTMK - how long for a round in one land?

If we only wanted to do one or two rounds (i.e. one to two lands, not an entire level covering all 4 areas in the game)...how long does just one round in one land usually take?

Crowd levels moderate. Looking at it as an afternoon option our 2nd day after other rides/FPs used & before the parade.

I would say about an hour give or take, depending on how often you have to wait on people already at the portal you need.

I've played it a fair amount with my kids. Playing a round (i.e. defeating a villain) on easy difficulty takes maybe 30 min to an hour, depending on 1) if you have to wait for other people at the various portals and 2) if you make mistakes, have to backtrack, etc. and 3) how fast you walk :moped:

Big crowd levels may or may not turn into lots of folks playing the game. When we were there earlier this month we saw very few people playing Sorcerers, despite the high crowd levels. But when we were there in the off-season a couple of years back, we often had to wait for someone else to finish at a portal before we could proceed.

Really hard to say. I've played games where I didn't wait behind a single person, and finished in maybe 20-30 mins, and I've had games where every single portal had at least 3-4 people in front of me. Those games took more like a whole afternoon as I would swing back by and do it in sections. I've also had games where I had to backtrack every single portal, and others where I essentially did them all in sequential order, not backtracking once.

Wow. Ok...back to the drawing board on my TP for that afternoon....we could spend two half hour chunks on rounda in two lands I thought but sounds like that basically best case scenario for low crowd day.

keep in mind you can walk away and come back to pick up where you left off, even on another day (or an entirely different visit!)

So if you don't manage to finish a 'session' in one 30 min block, you can come back and finish it later.

Hope that helps. The game is really fun if you haven't played it, and some of the portals (like the one in Tortuga Tavern) are especially neat.

I think best case scenario is like 5 portal visits per round (might be 6). Figure each little vignette is a minute and change, so figure like 7-10 minutes if you were able to play the round right through, with no traveling between windows. Then figure 1-5 minutes or so to navigate/walk to the next portal. B

In Fantasyland, there are 4 portals within like 20 yards of the back side of the castle, while Adventureland has you going from over by Skippers Canteen down by the pirates stage and a few other places inbetween. It all comes down to what land you get, and what order the portals pop up in. You can usually request a land to start in, but after that it's up to the game.

And as @Jeremy Nolen said, you don't have to do it all in one sitting. Hit a portal on your way in, a few more during mid morning break, etc.
