Hey everybody, I know we were passing around Zucchini recipies but now I am in need of one for jalapeno peppers. I have found some for stuffed peppers or poppers but I am not interested in frying. Any ideas? I do have a DS and DD that won't touch the things but I'll worry about that later. In case it matters, I have probably 20+ peppers on the plant now.

TIA

Fry sausage and drain.. let cool
mix in cream cheese
take jalapeno peppers cut in half remove seeds

Fill the jalapeno peppers with the cream cheese & sausage

Bake on 350 for approx. 20 -30 min.

We just made nachos with the fresh jalepenos this weekend. We put them on top and heated them.

We also sometime put them in fresh salsa or in quesadillas.

Not sure if you are interested in canning, cooking, baking or pickling these? I have decided to pickle my bell peppers. Could you do the same for jalapenos? It's a refrigerater pickle recipe. Let me know if you want that? Good luck, fresh salsa sounds good too! The rest I'm giving away today at work. I'm kind of glad the garden is officially over with, DH tilled the garden over the week-end.

This is vaguely based upon some recipes I've seen; I make this occasionally (jalapeno poppers):

Mix one 8oz pkg cream cheese, 8 oz shredded cheddar, 1 tsp chili powder, 1 pressed garlic clove.

Cut about 15 jalapenos in half long-ways, clean out the seeds/membranes.

Stuff the halves with the mixture. Roll each stuffed half in flour, egg, breadcrumbs (in that order).

Bake at 350 for about 15 minutes (you can tell they're done when one or more just barely starts to "leak")

Serve with sour cream.

For suiting individual tastes, I've done this with pepperocini, serranos, or even habaneros as well. (Yeah, the last one was darn hot, but good)

Take jalepenos and half them lengthwise, stuff with cream cheese. (You can mix the cream cheese with diced garlic, or add cheddar, or other seasonings) Wrap with bacon (or pepper bacon) secure with toothpick. Bake at 350 till the bacon gets slightly crispy.

SO GOOD!

Oh, YUM! I think I'll try the one recipe variation with the bacon wrapped. What kind of sausage did poster #2 mean? Thanks, sounds so good about now, I wish you all were making supper for this house! :goodvibes

If you bake these at 300 for one hour they will not be hot. Also, check allrecipes.com. I know I put a recipe for a cheese dip with jalapenos in it in my recipe box. It sounded easy and good. Just search "jalapenos".

SO GOOD!

These are also fabulous grilled. Now I have a craving!
