Another question from never been to WDW mom. We are going Sept. 10, is it still super hot, and do you think that the free dining will make it alot more crowded? Does it get cool at night in Florida? Don't know what to pack. Thank you
You're not bugging anyone! We all love to talk about Disney. It's still hot during Florida's Septembers. It is not as hot once the sun goes down, but it's not coat weather. You could bring the very lightest of jackets or a long sleeve shirt, just in case, but I wouldn't worry about long pants.
The DDP will make the eateries more crowded, but I think your attraction crowd level will be just fine. September is a great month to visit.
We are going later in September and I'm not packing any long pants or jackets. If needed, we'll just layer on two t-shirts.
Pack light-colored, light-weight clothes. Wear visors and sunglasses. Drink plenty of water and wear plenty of sunscreen and have a wonderful trip.
We are leaving WDW on September 10th and I will have a spare sweater in my bag. If I don't travel with a sweater, the place I am has an unseasonable cold spell. I also can get cold very easily and DH loves the AC on high, so the sweater usually finds a use at some point in any trip.
thank you for writing back. I am so excited to go! I'm even more excited than the kids I think. We are going to go to Universal one day also, and I told my kids that they have a Twister ride, and they said, "Yeah, we know mom, you tell us that everytime we get a thunderstorm." You guys are the only ones who share my excitement!
I guess it all depends on what kind of weather you are used to. We live in Wi so 70 degree weather would be shorts weather for us.
Mid Sept the weather is still quite hot. It might dip down to that in the morning or late night. We still would wear shorts. My dh refuses to wear pants in WDW.
Light clothing should be fine for everyone in your family but bring some sweat shirts for that just in case cool front. Have a great trip.
What is the humidity like late Aug/Sept? I was at WDW the first week in May and it was really hot, but not humid - was wondering if that gets way worse at the summer goes on.
It will very likely be very hot and humid in early September. Use things like misting fans to help keep cool. Stay well-hydrated (as for free cups of ice water at any CS restaurant).
Since kids will be back in school, it probably won't be very crowded, even with the dining plan (we go in October because the crowds are light).
I would plan on shorts and t-shirts, even in the evenings. I also bring a long-sleeved denim shirt to throw on in places that have really cold air-conditioning (restaurants, attractions). Denim shirts pack down smaller than sweatshirts and are more lightweight - just the right weight for an extra layer.
This is my third time in September during Free Dining.Everyone is right its not crowded. The restaraunts were pretty booked up but I was even able to make a few last minute changes to my ADRs.

We will also be heading down on Sept. 10. We have only made one ADR because we want to keep our schedules flexable. We're always on the run at home and didn't want to be on a strict schedule on vacation. I'm hoping we will be able to make some TS reservations while we are there.
IMO only last September was unbearably hot!!!!!... or maybe that was because I was 5 months pregnant? No, honestly it can get hot and not a lot of rain to cool it down...so for us it is tank-top and short weather....
We went in September a few years ago, and it was very hot. Temperature is a relative thing. We are from Kentucky so we are used to a hot summer. Someone from the north might think it is way hotter than we did.
