since they will not let you use the myw passes in more than 1 park per day( knew there had to be a catch) i am wondering what passes to buy...

1)i thought i read all in your group had to have the same passes but if didn't look that way from the disney site. ie could i get 2 /8 day basic passes( we already have a dq pass we didn't use last time...if i can find it) and 4/ 7 day plus option( so they could go to water park and dq) passes on the same ressie.

2)has anyone who used to park hop not done so and if so how did you feel about it? i can get an extra days park ad. for $18 or add the hopper for $210 so think i know which way we would go but want to know if ex hoppers really missed it.( we always have hopped the last 2 days and sometimes went to illuminations after a park but that was before fantasmic and wishes . this way we could go to each park 2 days, plenty imo except i'd have to only do rnr andtot 1 day :( since i wouldn't spend 2 days in mgm) last time we had aps and i really liked the freedom to come and go but can't afford them this time.

3) if by some remarkable chance i bought the tickets now through ticket mania and later disney offered some package i need to buy tickets with...if i buy say 6 single day tickets to get the free dining ( hope hope) hubby and i can use them for another trip right? in other words they aren't on you room key or something so you can't save them for later or are they? ( like the old length of stay passes, never bought passes with the room)

know i had one more but i forget what ...aren't you glad!

thanks for any help

1) I think you all have to START with the same passes as part of your package purchase but can upgrade one or more of them on arrival. For example, you can get four seven day base passes with the package, then upgrade two of them to include the plus options and add a park day to the other two. Of course, that's only if you're purchasing a package. If you're booking each component separately, there's NO such restriction on the MYW passes.
2) Don't know - never didn't have a Hopper option
3) The one day passes ARE on your room key BUT as long as you don't use them AND you keep the room keys, you can use them on a later visit - either for park admission or toward an upgrade. Since one-day passes do not have a non-expiry option, they are valid forever until used. They don't expire within fourteen days, or at the end of your stay, or anything like that. They don't expire until you use them.

All must have the same ticket when you book the dining package. Otherwise, you can have whatever you want for each person. And even with the dining package, you can upgrade any ticket(s) to add more days or options you wish at Lobby Concierge or Guest Relations.

Your package tickets will be encoded onto your resort ID. They will not expire and will still be available for future use so long as you do not put that resort ID through any park turnstile during your visit.

Can't help you with #2 as I always park hop.

Thanks so far:)

so would the room keys have different names on them and would that be a problem later...paying for rooms for rm1)sil and d#1, rm2) d#2 bf,rm3) me, hub and d#2 ? how would the dining work if all the rooms are in mine or hubby's name so we could use all the extra passes.

The passes would be in everyones name. Now that they have the biometric scanners once someone uses a ticket it belongs to that person. So no using someone elses ticket even if you paid for them.

so then i could use the unused passes even if they are on the other room keys.thansk

ok anyone for #2 question?

Well, if no one else is biometrically coded onto the tickets, technically you could use them BUT...If the scanner does not work, or is down, they might ask you for ID, and if you are not Joe Smith (or whatever) they have the right to refuse you entrance.
Is the main reason you don't want to buy a pkg b/c you can get the tickets cheaper elsewhere? Because sometimes its just easier to get everything together. But I do understand saving money...I have 6 kids! LOL

Parkhopping - I went ahead and got the parkhoppers, because I knew we would probably want to hop, at least one day, and I am glad I did, because it really worked out well to do so. The park we were at in the am was the am EMH park, and it got horribly crowded, and we had done everything we wanted, so we left and went to another. I just paid the $ and pretended that's what tickets cost. LOL

Have a great trip!

i assumed the rooms would all be in our name( the payer) so the passes would to???? does each member in your party get their own room card/pass with their name on it ? ( last time we had aps)
i was thinking if there were not any good promos i'd probably buy the passes whereever they were cheapest and then if need be buy a 1 day for dining( if that is still in effect) but trying to find out all the hidden traps to my other wise foolproof plans :)

When you reserve a room with a package, you have to give the names of everyone staying in the room (and ages for children). These names are put on the room key and then assigned to that person for park passes, etc.

If you aren't buying the tickets as part of a package, they don't have to be the same.

Right. Even if you buy 1 day tickets for everyone, they will be in each individuals name. Think about it, they would not issue a ticket to the same person more than once for the same trip. So, you probably would not be able to use the other people's tickets, as their names would be on them, even if they wouldn't have the finger scan, because there is always the possibility of the ticket people asking for ID. Make sense?
The tickets will be in the names of each member of the entire party if you purchase them as part of a package. If asked for ID, you would not be able to prove you are your sister in law, or whoever.
I really want to save you the hassle! LOL

And, for example, I made the reservations for my family's connecting rooms, but one room listed my dh as the roomholder, the other listed me. You cannot be the roomholder on more than one room, they have to list someone else. (Unless, perhaps, you are the only adult with a large party of children in connecting rooms. But otherwise, no.)

well then i guess i have to book a package if i want dining free or not! that probably is what i want any way but wanted to get the best possible deal
