I am sorry to ask, I know that this has come up in other threads, I just want to make sure my math is right.

We will be staying for 6 nights, so we have the dining for 6 days. 2 adults, 1 child who is 10 so his credits count as an adult and 1 child 8 so he has child credits.

I am fine tuning our PS reservations., I have a table service setup for every day, 2 of them being for signature dining which takes 2 credits, which adds up to:
7 credits X 4 people = 28 total credits

what we are allowed on the plan is
6 credits X 4 people = 24 credits

So the way I figure this, if I am right is if we pay for my 8 year old's food at 4 of the lower priced table service restaurants, which is about 5-6.00 per child meal that we can save the 4 credits to make up for the 2 signature dinings we want.

Am I right on this? Do I have everything figured out right? Credits are credits, no matter if they are for child or adult if I have read right. Thanks for helping me out!

Okay, look at it this way to make sure you have it right:
Your total number of AVAILABLE TS credits is 24 (6 nights x 4 ts)
If you pay for a child's meal at a signature restaurant, you will need 6 pts to cover the other 3 members of the family.
If you pay for a child's meal at a regular TS restaurant, you will need 3 pts to cover the other 3 members of the family.

I don't think you have your math right here - 7 credits, with 2 signature experiences, only leaves 3 other TS meals (5 TS meals total). You are right if you do not intend any TS on either your arrival or departure dates.

This makes me think that you are actually planning 6 total TS meals (2 signature and 4 regular).

Yes, you can pay for the child's meal at your other TS meals to stretch the points (or even at the signature restaurant if you really want to stretch those points). If you are only doing 5 total TS meals (2 signature) and if you use credits for all members at the signature restaurant, you only have 8 pts left. Obviously, if only 3 people are using the credits, it will cover 2 2/3 meals - you will have to pay for one adult meal on the third TS meal as well as the kid's.

If you intend to have a fourth regular TS meal, you are looking at paying for that entire meal for everyone (plus, as stated before, the child's meals at other regular TS and one other adult TS).

If you want to do 6 total TS (2 signature), it may be more cost effective to pay for the child's meals at the signature experiences and the regular TS, then you are looking at the following:
Signature: 2 pts X 3 people X 2 meals = 12 pts
Regular: 1 pt X 3 people X 4 meals = 12 pts
Total: 24 points!

Hope this helps without completely confusing you!

Ok, now I am confused!

We arrive on July 10th. We are getting there about 6:30pm so no table service for the first day.

July 10th - Cinderella's Royal table for dinner - 1 credit

July 11th - Whispering Canyon - 1 credit

July 12th - Coral Reef - 2 credits

July 13th - Hollywood Brown Derby - 2 credits

July 14th - Ohana's - 1 credit

July 15th - we leave this day so no table service

So we are really only having table service meals on 5 days.

Now if we have 24 dining credits and I pay for 3 of our child's meals at the regular 1 credit table service restaurants and pay for 1 adult meal, are we covered for everything else? This is our first trip to Disney World, so I'm not sure about having 2 table service meals. If I only go with one, which would you choose, Coral Reef or Brown Derby? We are seafood people so I am thinking Coral Reef.

If I drop one signature table service, lets say Brown Derby and just go with regular 1 credit table service for that day, then I shouldn't have to pay anything out of pocket with the other choses I have above right? The more I think about this, the more confused I get.

Looking at your list, you only have plans for THREE table service meals that only require one point each and TWO table service meals that would require two points per person. (5 total TS)
I would recommend buying a child's meal at your two signature restaurants, according to the menus at Allears the kids meals are still pretty cheap. Then you will have enough points to cover ALL family members at the other three restaurants:

7/10 - Cindy's Table = 4 total points
7/11 - Whispering Canyon = 4 points
7/12 - Coral Reef = 6 pts (purchase child's meal)
7/13 - Brown Derby = 6 pts (purchase child's meal)
7/14 - O'Hana's = 4 pts
Total: 24 points

This will have you purchasing the least number of TS meals for your child. As the child's meal is not any more at a signature restaurant than a regular, buy them there and save the points.

Remember, the Dining plan assumes you will eat a TS meal on either your arrival or departure date. You are doing neither, so that accounts for why you don't need to buy so many meals for your child.

You are so great!

I will do exactly as you have suggested. I will just pay for the child's meals at the 2 signature restaurants. Your suggestion will work perfect!

7/10 - Cindy's Table = 4 total points
7/11 - Whispering Canyon = 4 points
7/12 - Coral Reef = 6 pts (purchase child's meal)
7/13 - Brown Derby = 6 pts (purchase child's meal)
7/14 - O'Hana's = 4 pts
Total: 24 points

I tell you, I don't know what I would do without your guys here. My husband is not much of a planner so it is all left to me. I tell you, you are a life saver!! :jumping1:

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm confused with your list. You said your a family of 4 staying 5 nights/6 days right?? That means you only get 20 TS credits. It's per night not per day. (4pp x 5 night = 20 credits). It looks like you would be using 28 credits (which is 8 more then you are allowed). Since your older son is beyond child's meal age, it wouldn't work out. Even if you payed for all of your younger son's meals, you still would be short 1 credit.

No, we are there for 7 days 6 nights. The first day we get in late around 6:30pm and the last day we don't have any table service meals planned. So we should have 24 table service credits for the 6 night stay.

I'm sorry Jess, but if you arrive on the 10th that would be your first night, 11th second, 12th third night, 13th fourth night, 14th fifth night and you said you go home on the 15th correct?? That's only 5 nights to me. Am I missing a day?

I'm not real sure here but she has listed BOTh no ts on the 10th beacuse of late arrival ANDthen that Cinderella is on the 10th (obviously a TS there!) so I dunno! BUT either way it's still only 5 nights listed....maybe you're staying an extra night you forgo :confused3 t about??

Sorry if I haven't been clear, I just re-read my post, my typo. We are there from July 9th - 15th. I don't have anything planned for either the 9th or the 15th, just everything in between. I think this is stressing me out! I can't even type anymore. We are there 7 days 6 nights.
