Y'all excuse this post as I don't really have any questions or anything of importance to say. I just had to see my ticker! :cool1:

I'll be doing a trip report, but I'll try to give a mini-live report while were there.

My dad is already there and in loop 1100. We're apparently going to be in 2100 - hope to see some of you there!

Have a great time !!!!

Have fun!!! We'll be here... in the cold... wishing our tickers weren't so darn slow... ;)

Enough excuses, Leslie. Some of us are desperate for a trip report. I think it has rained as much in Orlando as it has here in Birmingham. Usually behind the rain is clear skies. So give us the low-down on your mini-reports and don't wait till you're back home, please! :worship:

Well, we made it! Our flight was late leaving due to the weather in Orlando, then a luggage delay, but we finally made it to the fort around 1:30 or so. Today (at least till about 7:00 or so) can be summed up as wet. I mean, really wet. It was pouring when we got here, pouring when we went to my dad's camper for lunch, pouring while the kids rode their bikes all over, pouring when we caught the boat to the MK around 5:30.... You get the picture.

BUT, who cares? We were at the Fort! Soggy though it is, it still looks great. the swamps are very swampy but hopefully it will dry out now that it's done raining (I hope!).

I got no fort pictures so far, other than a few inside shots, but I'll try to do better since it's (again, hopefully) done raining.

BTW, we got exactly the loops we wanted - we're in 2100 and my parents are in 1100, so we're very close. The kids have been all over both on foot and on bikes, despite the rain.

We hit the MK tonight and it was pretty quiet, I'm sure due to the rain. Lots of walk on rides, then we headed back for dinner in the cabin. Now, I'm about to hit the hay but I'll try to report in frequently (with pics when I can). (I don't want M&M to tell my parents I'm staying up too late! :rotfl:)

More tomorrow!

Well, we had another great day today. The sun came out and stayed out - just absolutely beautiful. So nice after such a torrential rain yesterday!

The fort was absolutely beautiful today. The only problem is that I didn't get enough time here to enjoy it. We did Epcot this morning and had a great time. Then everyone but the 3 big kids and me came back to the Fort and rested and played outside while I took the 3 big ones to Disney Quest. Big mistake. I totally should have saved that money and just come on back with them and relaxed here. DQ is highly overrated, in my opinion. The ones that came on back played at the playgrounds, rode bikes, played at the beach, made new friends, etc. So, I learned my lesson on that one. :sad2:

Having said that, it still was a great day. We made it back here around 4:00 and I got to hang out with my dad and step-mom at their site while the kids ran amuk on their bikes. As I was on my back to the cabin to start supper, I ran into Mayor Donnie, who I didn't even know was going to be here! :) It was great to see him again. Other than Donnie, I haven't seen any other Fort Fiends, but I here there are some here. If you're reading this from the Fort, make sure to swing by sometime - we're in 2107. My dad's in 1100 somewhere, but I haven't gotten a handle on which site number he has yet.

That's it for today. We lose an hour with the time change tonight, and we have CM ADRs tomorrow for 7:40 am. Not the best planning on my part, but it is what it is.

More tomorrow!

Leslie

Lovin your report...keep it coming....planning my FIRST trip to Ft Wilderness for summer of 2011!!! So I gotta live vicariously! Oh and I totally agree with you on DQ...waste of time for us too!:thumbsup2

Leslie,

If you have time, mosey down and check out what your opinion is of the work around River Country.

Of course, TCD did his fantasic investigative expose, then he was never heard from again....

Carol Kelly promised in a different thread to post some pix yesterday, still nothin...

If you go snoopin' down there, keep looking over your shoulder for the MIB :cool2:

Be sure to tell about the fishing. :rotfl2:

Okay,,I know you wont be fish'n,,,I hope ya'll hava great time ,:thumbsup2

It was a beautiful day again today. Bright sunny skies, moderate temps - truly just right! We did the MK this morning, then back to the fort for lunch, then off to the AK. I ate an early dinner with my friend from Tampa, so I wound up with a few minutes away from the rest of the group. Therefore, I finally got some pictures! (Most have my "people" in them, but a couple are just fort stuff):

Y'all should be very impressed with those last 2 - they were taken (by me, no less) from a moving bicycle. The fact that I didn't crash is a miracle. But, I knew I had been slack on getting fort pictures for y'all and didn't want to let you down.

So, tomorrow we're going to Hollywood Studios, but planning to have a fort afternoon. So maybe, with any luck, I can go exploring. Whether I'm brave enough to try for River Country, after the unexpected exit of TCD (who I still miss), remains to be seen.

BTW, Shasta is here, but I missed her today. Hoping to see her tomorrow! And, hope to see any other Fiends that may be around...

Leslie

Now that's what we're talking 'bout! Photos and updates live from the Fort. Cool picture with the Lake Patrol boat signs glowing - are they illuminated or was that reflecting back from the flash?

Looks like everyone is having fun, wish we were going this year!
