I am flying into MCO via Spirit Airlines staying at POR. We are leaving from BC and back to MCO for return Spirit Airlines flight. I just read a post that Spirit is not part of DME but when i reserved my package with Disney I gave them Spirit info and she said i was fine for DME. Any help would be appreciated.

I also was thinking of switching to Swan/Dolphin end of trip and cancel the BC because i can save about 1/2 on the hotel rate, but then i know S/D does not belong to DME. Wondering about transportation options back to MCO which would of course i would be paying for. Any recommendations. We are a party of 5~2 adults, 3 kids. Thanks!:) :)

No problem coming in via Spirit and taking ME to POR. Leaving from BC, you can make your ME return reservation after you get there.

Going to Disney, ME works the same way for all airlines.

Going home you can use ME in the same way for any airline, managing your baggage yourself when preparing to leave the resort. For the small number of "participating" airlines on their domestic flights there is the additional option of checking baggage at the resort.

A towncar would probably be the least cost option for 5 people going to and from the Swan or Dolphin. One way rides are available too.

When you read about "participating airrlines" it can get a little confusing.

"Participating airlines" only matters for when you return from your resort back to the airport at the end of your trip. And even then it only matters for checking your luggage in at the resort and getting your boarding passes at the resort. Everyone on every airline still gets the bus ride.

When you arrive on Orlando, for the way to your resort from the airport, EVERYONE ON EVERY AIRLINE uses the full force of DME ... the bus ride, the automatic luggage delivery, the works! So to repeat: it doesn;t matter what airline you use, you can use DME.
