But how should a transfer of points between members work? Just trying to get an idea of any standard procedure utilized. [We are purchasing and to be honest will probably NEED to rent some points instead of staying ourselves, at least at first :-( ] Just trying to get an idea of how long it takes members services to transfer the points, when that happens in relation to payment being made, etc. Any info would be appreciated!!
 
The member transferring the points can simply call MS and have them transfer "X" number of points to member "Y". MS will instruct any other needs to accomplish the transfer.

The transferred points will retain their original use year and home resort status. Technically, there is not supposed to be any remuneration for transferring points, so MS won't provide any advice or assistance with that aspect. If there is to be some "consideration" for the points, those details should be agreed upon in advance.

Based on my experience, MS will begin the "transfer" process with a phone call. However, they will not "officially" transfer points without a written statement with the signatures of both members and their account numbers.

We've transfered points 5 times now and have always been required to fax or mail something to MS in writing.
 
So perhaps the one transferring would prepare the info for the transfer, send it to recipient of points for signature, then recipient would return the executed request [along with something other than remuneration?] The the one transferring would fax the transfer request to member services? Is that a reasonable way to handle?
