I feel so bad that I haven't been on the boards lately. I ususally try to get the answers posted but I haven't even had time to do that!
We had our Canival/Craft Sale at Chloe's school on Saturday( of which I was heavily involved with) and did $7,000 after expenses. Awesome eh!
Anyways I am going to try and get back to the rewards (haven't done those either) and get back here! :D :D :D

I am glad you are back, Karen!! We have missed you! :)

Glad you're back Karen. I haven't been able to hang around as much as I'd like either. The holidays have me hopping!

What a great total for a carnival! Congratulations!

How big is your school(how many students?)? Just asking because am new to this school stuff and our carnival only did around$1300 on Nov.1. we did better at the May one we did $1800 just wondering what we can do to make it a better moneymaker!

Welcome Back

We have 650 children in our school. It goes from Junior Kindergarden to Gr. 5. We had a craft sale of which we got 40 vendors to come and sell there wares (charged them $25.00 a table) We asked each of them to donate an item for our silent auction (we made $1000.00 on that ) Then we had around 10 class rooms used for different carnival rooms. We had a magician come in (he is a high school student and he also did balloon animals) Up in Ontario the high school students must fill 40 hours of volunteer time before they graduate (great idea) We phoned the local high school and we had around 40 kids come out to help us. We also had face painting, tatoo room, peach toss (for little kids) mini golf, basketball, gingerbread decorating, and craft room. We sold tickets (like beer tickets) 10 for $5.00 and 30 for $10.00. Each room had a sign with how many tickets you needed . For ex. - magician was 4 tickets and balloon making was 2 tickets. We had a coloring room that was free.
We advertised in the local paper but our biggest draw was putting sign all over the place 2 weeks ago. That brought in lots of people. Oh ya, we also had care giving for the children so the parents could go shopping.
:wave2:

your school is a little of twice the size as ours and we did not do the auction this time so I don't feel so bad that our total was what it was now sounds like it was about right for the size of our school.

We toyed around with the childcare idea but did not know what to charge etc. How did you work that?

Our principle will not let us use class rooms we must do it all outside. I love your idea on minigolf and crafts.

And the vendor tables sound great also.

thanks for the great ideas
