OK so real life has totally gotten way out of hand. So I am apologizing profusely for my absence.
*I was on a secret mission but if I told you about it I would have to kill you*

Anywho quick update on the craziness:
-DH is home this week so I have to pretend to do stuff around the house
*The general is in town so base command has to be in top form*
-DS10 is home sick today with a fever
*MEDIC!! Soldier down we need a medic!!*
-DS5 is having his hearing tested on Friday, the school wants me to test him
*We need to see if this cadet is fit to perform his duties*
-The hot water heater is finally installed!!!!
*scientific experiments on aliens life forms found in the area have been completed*
-It is finally warm outside the down side I can see what the s^@w hid and realize I am wicked far behind outside of the house too
*combat training has commenced due to favorable weather*

So that is my life in the Nuthouse.....errr.....I mean Nutshell. I swear on a stack of patterned paper I will be better at fulfilling my duties as Swap Commander.
We are Ohana, and Ohana means family, and family means no one gets left behind!

I thought I had it bad!!!

Let's see...
I'm trying to organize one room at a time.. still avoiding that basement but it will be done this weekend!!! Dh worked on it some last weekend.

DH was suppose to be out of town..but someone messed up his rental car issue and so he caught a ride w/ co-workers who are going up and back today and he refuses to stay because he is so frustrated.. Some frustration related to the fact that he works w/ morons at some of the satellite venues!

DD13 is running track, 4-H, Jr. Leaders, and everything else she can be involved in.. Checked her grades yesterday... uhm, somebody fibbed and said there was not a test last week.. were her grade shows.. that somebody was her! Needless to say, she's busted.. punishment has been given and our little cadet is in the stockade!

DS10 is thrilled basketball is over.. Got an A+ on the science test..the grade that has eluded him all year! Rock on bad boy!! Rock on!! He was so thrilled he posted his test on the fridge! Soccer season has started but at least we are not doing 2 a day practices any more.. one practice 3 days a week instead of 6 practices 3 days a week and our weekends being totally shot.. Now our weekends consist of 2 hours for games instead of 8-9 hours! woo hoo!

DS6 is just being a mischeivous as he can be.. I think its the fact the weather is nice but it's muddy so he can't get outside..

Dss's are doing well. well as well as they can.. dealing w/ an issue w/ one..but I figured out the problem was more w/ the adult(not parental units or myself) than the child.. Case solved; SM(stepmom) won!


Me: I'm trying to catch up on scrapping but seem to be getting overwhelmed so I have to get things started before I freak out!!!

I do have to play hostess to my little (22 years old) sister and my nephew (just over a year old) who are coming to visit for my birthday. Is it wrong to pawn them off on my mom to celebrate with my BF?

I'm guessing mom wants "quality time" with the little guy. My sister's DH is in the Army and they're stationed in east nowhere Texas. This little get-away is just what she needs.

We need to check schedules..and do a Cinci Zoo trip!!! It's only a 2 hour drive for us.. so it wouldn't be much if we did it on the weekend or late in the week!!!

Hey, when is your spring break? It might be more crowded than during a normal week, but certainly no more than a weekend day. We have from 4/6 to 4/13 off. Not a long time, but still, it's time off.

Well I'm not doing so bad right now but I just have to tell you saga surrounding my sister at the moment, it just defies belief!

Sis is quite a bit older than me, in stable relationship and has a little girl who just started school, but they've always rented houses. They decided last summer they needed to buy and eventually found a house around August. It's a 5 minute walk from their current rental and their offer was accepted by the guy living there, he was just divorced and living alone with his dogs.

Over the months things began to go wrong, mainly just solicitors being very slow and dates constantly being pushed back. They were supposed to exchange contracts in Jan but the seller vanished, evetually reappearing a few days later very apologetic. He handed over a cheque to my BIL to cover the extra rent he was making them pay.

OK we get to last week. Contracts were exchanged and all was set for the final exchange of keys. Guy refuses to do it because he has nowhere to go. In the months leading upto this he hasn't sorted himself out with anywhere to live!!! The house still contains about 50% of his stuff cos he's only taken some of it to a storage place. Sis contacts solicitors and he evetually hands the keys over. BIL immediately has front locks changed but for some reason he can't do back door. The house is a disaster area, they can't get within 2ft of any wall because of his stuff, the fittings in the bathroom have leaked for so long the floor is now a safety hazard and needs replacing and there's a 3ft hole in the bedroom floor. Every surface has an inch of dust on it. Luckily they knew roughly how bad it was and had arranged to live in the rented house until summer so they could clean and fix it up a bit.

Today the saga is still going on. The guy is living in his car in the alley at the back of their garden with his car blocking their garage, the dogs are living in the car too - one is a BIG dog. Sis had thought of calling the RSPCA (animal welfare charity) but the guy had mentioned before that if he lost his dogs he'd probably top himself and she can't deal with the thought of him doing that. They've now contacted the police as the guy is still coming into their garden and using their washing line!!! I just await every message with my fingers crossed that he'll leave!!!

Goodness Queenie.. that is awful.. What in the world is wrong w/ that man!!! My gosh.. What have the police said they will or can do? I sure hope they get this sorted out soon.. They guy should have been looking for housing long ago..

Queenie, do you have a mental health assocation there? Because that guy is certainly unhinged. If he would off himself over a dog, he could go over anything. Okay if he does it to himself, but what if he decides that your Sis and her DH are ruining his life now?

I'm glad she has called the authorities over tresspassing issues, but she needs to take this one step more to keep herself safe. Best of luck to her.

I agree with AWM. He is mental. Can your sister get a restraining order it make him stay away from the house? Oh and the house belongs to them now so they need to get a dumpster and toss his stuff. Hew has no claim to it now. As for the back door, replace the whole thing door and all.

Same thing happened to us with this house previous owner left all kinds of stuff, we spent $100 on dumping it but there was no way he was getting his stuff back after we closed. He even lefty naughty magazines in the boys room fanned out so they would definitely see them. Good thing I went to the house while they were at mom's to clean up. Some people!

Mum just called and a social worker is being sent out to talk to him tomorrow. Sis is contacting solicitors about the stuff in the house as they're not 100% sure where they stand legally with it and they don't want to get fined for dumping it (don't know if the law is different here to the USA.)

As far as I know he doesn't actually know where my sis and her family live right now, it's only a 5 min walk but that 5 mins encompasses hundreds of identical houses. Sis isn't scared of him at all, says he seems like a normal bloke who's just not been able to cope with his divorce, she's not at all scared around him. They're doing what they can to keep their daughter away from the house though, mainly because it's so mucky and you know what kids are like for touching stuff and then sticking their fingers straight in their mouths!!

It's good you Sis is keeping everything in perspective and at all costs protecting her DD!! Good for her!!!

I'm glad to hear the social worker is going out.. I think in the states here.. I know in our case.. we stipulated all their stuff had to be out by the date of closing.. and anything left would be tossed. We immediately after signing went to the house and checked things and DH changed the locks that night.

I sure hope they get this straightened out soon!!!
