I see that the ABC Commissary at Hollywood Studios sells a Cuban Sandwich.
What is that and is it good?:confused3

Of course its good! :)

It is a pressed ham/pork and cheese sandwich, with pickles inside.

WHatever you do dont get the burger there unless you are absolutely starving!

I wish I got the cuban!

Actually, the best thing there is the curry.

DW and I both though the Cuban sandwich was surprisingly good when we had it last December. As I recall, it was hot ham, cheese, and pickle on a bun.

The big difference is the bread -- "Cuban" bread, whatever that is, that's grilled to perfection.

We tried the Cuban once at Bongo's and were disappointed. They have better authentic Cuban sandwiches in New York :thumbsup2

The best Cuban sandwich I've had was in Miami.

No, no, no...the best Cuban sandwiches are in Tampa.:thumbsup2 really...no really they are:lovestruc

When I was growing up, they only kind of sandwich we could get in school was a Cuban...you could choose a hot lunch or a Cuban and plantain chips...no potato chips. (ssshhh they were awful sandwiches, no roast pork...but the bread was authentic, it even had the bits of palm frawn to prove it.;) )

We love Cuban Sandwiches, roast pork, ham, swiss cheese, pickles and mustard on cuban bread and then pressed...the one at ABC missed the good mark by a mile

They were the most disgusting things my DH and I have ever eaten in WDW!

I never had a Cuban until I met DW. She grew up on them in Tampa.

Acording to her, the ABC Commisary Cubans were pretty good, although obviously not as good as one from Tampa. I enjoyed mine, but I'm not the expert that she is.

Now if we're talking bagels...

Thanks!

I think we might just do the Commissary as an attraction (HUGE Lost and Grey's Anatomy fans!) and eat someplace else!!:lmao:

Being a Tampa native I must say they are the best I have ever had.

I'll have to remember that the next time I go down to the city and try them out.

It's somewhere between 21st and 18th. Don't go to the big one (Cocina Cuba?) - look for a little whole in the wall past it - maybe a block or so!

It wasn't very good (dry, not much taste). I had one last time we went there and not only wouldn't I get it again, I don't think I'd go out of my way to eat in the Commissary again, either. And this from someone who has eaten all over WDW and has liked almost everything else I've ever eaten there.

Bongo's, in DTD, also has a cuban sandwich at their counter service. DH loves it.
