Ok, Tiki Room die hards, I'm sorry but I think the Tiki Room has had it's time, I mean the new management was nice and I was really looking forward to seeing it again this latest trip, but....

as I looked around at everyone I found myself and my DD the only one's singing and bopping, everyone looked liked they could care less.

Could it be that maybe it's time for a different attraction at this site in WDW?

Come to think of it I had a similar experience on the Jungle Cruise, while I thought it was still cool with all the jokes and all, last week while exiting I overheard several people saying it was awful.

Gosh Mickey, should we dare close down Jungle Cruise and Tiki Room?

I have never been to WDW when Jungle Cruise hasn't had at least a 45 minute stand-by line. :p I'm not a big Tiki Room fan but it's a nice spot to get out of the sun and heat during the summer and kill some time before our fast passes.

Bring back the old Tiki room and I'll be there singing and enjoying it. I don't care for the "under new management" version at all.

As for the Jungle Cruise - I prefer seeing the real animals over at Animal Kingdom.:D

tiki room:confused:

yet another thing I missed my last trip

I gotta plan better

That's how I feel about Jungle Cruise. But, I like the 'birds'. Especially if there is a thunder/lightning storm happening!!

Nooooooooo! That's one of my favorite spots in the MK. They can't take it away! But ... umm, they can take away the Jungle Cruise. :o :p

::yes:: ::yes::

My DH has always like the Tiki Room, especially the older version. I really didn't care for it, but it was a good place to take a break and to rest my legs.;) ;)

Keep the birds! I still like them. I enjoy them more than the Country Bear Jamboree, although I'll watch the bears to rest my feet and get cooled off.

Jungle Cruise is a classic, but it seems so dated. I still like going past the waterfall and into that cave though. Although, I would NEVER wait 45 minutes to see.

It's a great place for a nap, IF you can sleep with all that annoying music. Hall of Presidents is a fave napping place for me, too.

I agree, it's a waste now, but I'm not a big Disney classic person. Knowing Eisner, he'd just stick another Dumbo/Flying Carpet spinning ride there and call it Disney magic. So until someone better comes along with a better vision for rides that are up to par, maybe it should stay around =)

We don't bother with the Jungle Cruise either, but I will go again once I have children... for adults, it's cheesy and fake, but I can see children finding it exciting the first time =)

I really like both of them myself.

The first time? We could be so lucky. My DS4 still thinks the animals are real. This is one of his most favorite rides. We've been on it so many times in the last 3 years I couldn't even count them if I tried. DS would be heartbroken if it wasn't there anymore. :(

We haven't been in the Tiki Birds since it first was under new management. I've always wondered, how long are they going to promote that? It's been at least 4-5 years since they re-did it, hasn't it? Once was enough for us.

Disneyland's Tiki Room is going down this month (maybe already) for a huge rehab. We are all hoping that they re-open with just a "sprucing up" & that they keep the original routine.

We LOVE the Jungle Cruise at night - it seems like the "Guides" have a little more "lee-way" on their spiel.

I like the old Tiki Room! We just saw the old version in Disneyland and I really miss seeing it in Orlando. I'm not a big fan of the newer version but my kids love it.

Or....

....Maybe it's time for the other WDW guests to lighten up for 20 minutes and forget that they are adults and find entertainment in something that is not special effects laden, or invloves the use of pyrotechnics.

That is what WDW is all about. Not glitz and movie style effects. It is about animatronics, and light hearted , clean family style amusement.

I feel much more concerned that people no longer find enjoyment in the silly innocence of the Tiki Room and the cheesy jokes of the Jungle Cruise than that I do that these attractions are no longer fun.

Keep singing and bopping along. I fear one day WDW will take these classics away; replace them with high tech stuff like that found at Universal, and we'll all be missing it then.

I know I will.

They ruined it with Zazu and Iago, they're both great characters but they don't fit with the whole Tiki Room feel. They're too cartoony. The tiki room was all about real looking birds, coming alive and singing. I was surprised at how large they made Iago and Zazu, they're so HUGE compare to all the tiki birds.

I'd much rather ride Jungle Cruise (at night, of course) than ride Mission Space .
