sorry but more waitlist questions

Im sorry for all these questions but were new to the DVC had to reschedule our trip and at this late date its very hard to get what we want so Im trying to piece it back together

so now my question is Id like to for sure book april 1 on our points waitlist the 2nd --so wed like to go april 1 through 8 and cancel the 9th and 10th

so I went into the website and now Im really confused on how to fill it in

I have the choice to book available night which is April 1 that part I get

but then its says to book these available nights which is the 3rd through the 7th which I already have booked and dont want to risk losing those days

or waitlist the entire stay which i dont want to do like before I dont want to risk losing what I have

all I want to do is reserve april 1 and waitlist the 2nd

Im sure IM making this harder then it really is and this is pretty easy to do but I dont see it yet

again sorry for the questions I just dont want to mess this up

Go ahead and book April 1.

Then book the other nights that are available. If you've already done that but have more nights booked than you now want, call MS to cancel the extra nights at the end. That way you won't lose the other nights you still want (April 3 - 7).

If you want to waitlist just for the night of April 2, go back and try to book it. So ask to check in on 4/2 and out on 4/3. If it's not available, you will get the option to make a waitlist just for that night.

When it comes through (let's stay positive), you can call MS and ask to have all the nights combined into one reservation, checking in on 4/1 and out on 4/9.

Thanks so very much for the very helpful advice Carolmn. I can't tell you how much it's helped me. However I do have one more question. I'm doing the wait list and it's asking me if I want the wait list to replace an existing booking Yes or no. Which do I pick Thanks again for the help. I just don't want to mess this up and end up with nothing.

No, there is no reservation you're trying to replace so don't check that box. You would want to keep your 1st, and 3rd-9th. That box would be for if say you had a res at one hotel and you waitlisted a res at another hotel. If the waitlist succeeds, you'd want it to replace your original one, not end up with both.
