Sorry, but another ME question

I am still trying to understand the ME service. Sorry. We will be going to WDW in December. DH and the kids will be driving. I will be flying (can't get away from work early enough to drive). If I am making a room only reservtion, and booking my airfare on my own, can I use ME to get to the resort? Or do I have to book my airfare with Disney in order to use ME? Also, if I do book my airfare with Disney, does that make my reservation a package? I'm trying to avoid the package thing due to having to pay so far in advance.

My family also booked room only, and airfare on our own, and yes you can still use the ME. When you have booked your flight call and give them your info.

DME is for all guests staying at WDW resorts who fly into MCO. Period. Any other details don't matter.
