Hi everyone:

I'm traveling to WDW Labor Day week with my three daughters (ages: 4, 13 and 16). Currently, we have a reservation for AKL CL but, for pretty much the same price, I can get a lagoon / pool view room at Beach Club. I've not stayed at Beach Club before but we have visited and I do like the atmosphere. I really like how it's so close to DHS and Epcot (and also MK, via monorail); we will be spending four out of our six days at either MK or Epcot (hopping as well), and one other day at DHS. I had booked AK b/c my little one was set on having a room with a bunk bed, but I really like the convenience BC would offer, considering our plans. What do you guys think? I think if we did BC, I also wouldn't have to share a bed with anyone since two girls can sleep on one of the queens and another can be on the daybed? Think the room at BC overall is just bigger than the room at AK as well.

Thanks so much!

I think you already have made your choice and you are just looking for validation :D. In response i would say having ones own bed tops all.

I love BC/YC, it's my go to resort. We stayed 2 nights at AKV in May for a split stay with BWV and got pixie dust and were upgrade to a savannah view which was awesome. We could get up every morning and watch the animals feed and wander around. The resort is beautiful, big and just plain fascinating. Loads for kids to do just at the resort. Having said that, would I stay again? If I were doing another split stay, most definitely. If I couldn't get an Epcot resort, yep. If I could get an Epcot resort and not doing a split stay, it would not be my choice.

I think with the park days you have planned BC is a much better choice. AKL is amazing, but not very convenient. Just so you know I don't believe every room has a day bed. You can put in a request for one on the online check-in form I think, but families with 5 on the reservation get preference for the day bed rooms. Check out the YC/BC thread on here for everything you could possibly want to know about the resort. It's great!

I've done both AKL CL and BC and I can confidently say, go for BC. The rooms are more spacious, walking to Epcot is super easy and Stormalong Bay is, IMHO, the best resort pool. Enjoy!

Normally I'd choose the CL option, but in your case I'd go with BC. Being able to spread out and get good sleep is one major reason (lol). Another, of course, is because of your plans (Epcot/MK and hopping). One of our favorite things to do while staying at BC is to go to a park during the day and then simply walk into Epcot at night. In your shoes, I'd go with BC.

Do you have hopper tickets? If not you can't use the monorail to get to MK from BC as you have to enter Epcot to access it. Not to dissuade you from BC, but just so you are aware :).

I loved AKL but found the bunk beds obtrusive...also irritating because I was traveling alone and had no idea why a single adult was given a bunk room. Anyway, I didn't notice how much smaller the AKL room was until my next stay was back at YC and it was like "yes, This is space!" They just refurbed BC too. The only real down side is a truly lackluster QS breakfast option and limited choices for TS at Capt Grille in the morning. Though Boms st AKL is pricey to do more than once or with a family.

I would absolutely choose the BC for the location and it's a beautiful resort. My entire family loves the BC!

BC hands down !!!:yay: Depending on the room at AKL you may have a verrrrryyyy long walk to bus and resturaunts !!

Yes, we do have hopper tix so that will help out. Basically, we'll be there from M-Sat, and we'll be at DHS the first day, then MK or Epcot (or both) from Wed-Sat. Thus, I think BC may be a better option. Already contacted my TA to make the change. Hopefully, that lagoon / pool view room is still available!

Thanks very much for all the input. Super helpful and greatly appreciated!
