If the economy is so bad why is there NO availability at BCV or BWV June 8-16???

For the first time in 7 years there is no availability at either of our home resorts. The e-mail from MS says I can be put on the waitlist but I am not really sure I understand what that means so I am turning to you experienced DVCers to help me. What are the odds the waitlist would come through for a 9 night stay? Should I ask to be put on the waitlist or do I just book at one of the two resorts for which they have availability (SSR or OKW)? I am sooo confused :confused3

I have never been on a waitlist for as many days as you wish, so I have no firsthand experience. Can you get a series of 5-6 nights at either resort? If so, I would take those days and waitlist the rest. You are allowed 2 active waitlist, so if you need front and back, then do that.

I know that I would book OKW or SSR if I couldn't get the 5-6 nights now so I would have a vacation. In that case, I would book either of those and my two waitlists would be for preferred view BWV and BCV.

I hope you get what you really want!:wizard:

I would book SSR or OKW and WL if you plan on going, even if the WL does not come through.

If you will cancel if it doesn't, then there is not real advantage. One of the things you can do, if you are willing to do a split stay, is to put in your two WL differently.

For example, instead of trying to get one of the resorts for all 9 nights, you could put in a request for either resort for, say the first 3 or 4 nights. This might have a better chance of coming through than the 9.

If that comes through, then you could always call and put in another WL for the rest of the nights.

Just a thought. Good luck and I hope you get to enjoy your trip!
