We will have 6 adults, 4 kids at Poly in early May. Planning several MK mornings to focus on one or two lands at a time. But will visit all 4 parks. Kids are 1,4,5,5. We will rent strollers for all. But is MK doable for the older 3 without strollers knowing we won't do full park days. They are pretty good troopers but we will need strollers for Epcot.

All kids are different but we dropped the stroller at MK somewhere in the late 4s for DS. He could handle it and keep up reasonably well. Sometimes for us the stroller had more to do with how fast we wanted to move around vs the stamina of the kids, if that makes sense. DS was sort of slow at first!

Yes it is. Mine were never in strollers past age 3.
You know your kids, there are plenty that age that won't need strollers but you will see plenty of other kids that age in them. Play it by ear, if you find they need one, rent one. I wouldn't rent strollers for all, for the older ones, I'd have maybe one that they can share at different times.

Every family is different but so far with my older kids we have done a stroller until around 7. But we never do 1/2 days in the parks.... As babies on up we do open to after nighttime shows with ours. There might be one day in the week we leave the park around dinner time. For us our kids couldn't keep up or walk that many miles until around 7. Now I say that....My last little one loves to walk and wants no ones help! She will be 3 this next trip and I will be curious how much she's use the stroller in future trips especially.

Doable, sure. Would I do it? Definitely not. We kept our kids in strollers until they were 8. Just easier and kept them from getting too tired. Plenty of kids do it, and if that's what works for you do it. But for us, the stroller was well worth it.

when leaving a park I would have 1 adult with each child. even leaving then can be crowded as easy to loose a child. would not plan on kids being able to hold hands and walk 3 or 4 across. have a meet place outside the gate so you can regroup before heading to transportation as a group. that has helped us with a larger group. strollers rented in park a will not be allowed out gate even if you plan to return later

We never do full days in the park. We went when DS was 4 in May and he needed the stroller to prevent him from getting cranky (May can get hot). We went again when DS was 5 and DD was 9 months, I took our citi mini for DD and we rented a Disney stroller for DS if needed. He could do 1/2 a day in MK or DHS without a problem, and this was July. If he was given a choice he much rather sit in the stroller, but he definitely did not need it most of the time. It did slow our pace down, that was a good thing because we also had 2 grandmas with us. But if you have a touring plan and need to get to places fast, definitely use a stroller even if you are in the park only for 1/2 the day.

I wouldn't rent a Disney stroller for the 1 year old...they are just hard plastic, fine to sit on for older kids, but in my opinion definitely not doable with a 1 year old. As far as the older ones needing a stroller; it just depends. If you're only going to be there for a few hours, then I think you'd be fine, but we generally do park open to park close and always do strollers through age 5, and even rented one for a couple parks for my 6 year old one year. Have you thought about renting from an outside company (Kingdom strollers, Magic strollers etc.)? You could probably get 2 doubles (real with recline/soft, good sunshade etc.) for around the same price it would cost for a week renting through Disney (not sure how long you're going.)

Thanks for advice. Parents will bring the 1 YO's stroller. If we rent for the older kids we will rent City Minis from an offsite company. So we just need to figure out if we should rent a double + single or 2-3 singles. The double just seems bulky for the 2 parks we need to bus to.

Buy a double umbrella stroller. It'll be far cheaper than renting. Plus, it's less bulky than a large stroller you would rent. When you're done with it, sell it, donate it, throw it out. We always did a double umbrella. Even if you're going to rent something, I'd suggest the double and a single. Yeah, the double is larger, but it's less people that have to push a stroller, less strollers to park and retrieve, etc...just a lot easier.
